sorry to hear about all your bad luck m8 with your pride and joy. What did the police say anything useful like they have an idea who it was?

Yer, they have no idea at the moment. Just told me it would take a few weeks for the csi to analyse. Don't think they'll find anything unfortunately. Just annoyed as its an uneeded cost. Does anyone know how much it is to get dents out the bonnet? Might try the people who suck them out

if they got prints of there footprints and if it was a known criminal they can find out who it was of the footprints as each individual has a different footprint like each individual has different finger prints

Getting a full or partial print of any sort can be useful. Latent or otherwise. If you have prints from a boot/shoe then it is possible to identify the brand and make from the sole pattern.

From the print it is also possible to obtain a detailed summary of the little twat that did this. As each individual will walk and wear shoes slightly differently. (Wear of the sole). With this detail(S) in mind it is possible to determine a persons gait and potentially ID an individual, however, it all coems down to the print, who works on the case and interprets the information available to them. Unfortunately sickening as it is the people (Volume SOCO's) will not go into the lengths and time consuming investigation to catch them unless its an obvious case to deal with.

My car got a BBQ thrown onto it and smashed the bonnet up on my leon. But unfortunately the Volume SOCO's were unable to do anything.

Hope you get the car sorted and the little twats get caught!

u get you csi's to investigate that :O lucky. we'd just get our local cops taking statements...although I think my local force has a budget of peanuts haha.

My 1st car, in all my teenage ignorance, i put a rather large vent in the bonnet...did all the work and paint myself was well chuffed took me ages after school had it on for one week and my mate in his drunken state ran up my bonnet over the roof and jumped off the back totally wrecked the bonnet...but the roof was ok :S i didnt need csi for that 1 haha

About the alarm...I had mine broken into the other week and it didnt go off. Ive since removed the dust filter from in front of the volumetric sensors and now its very sensitive and works great.
You'll find it just in front of the interior light and switch, the sensors are behind the grill. I read that the dust cover can either get clogged with dust, or that its to thick to start with, both of which would make the alarm less sensitive. Hope they are caught and lynched.
