Windscreen Vents

Hi,

Does anyone know how to remove the windscreen vents. I have a rattle coming from that kinda area and I wanna see if I can see what it is.

guessing you mean the front screen fan have heard of rattle behind the dash but this was caused buy the face vent pipes knocking this could be your problem is it all the time?

Yea but worse when cold.

I had a quick look when I took the side panels off the dash and the pipes weren't knocking there. It could be further in behind the dash where I cannot see though.

Bet its a F**KER to get to them there.

try putting foam or loads of rags between thepipes and the dash see if that helps?

Only thing is from the side panels you can't really get to anything if you know what i mean.

it's amazing how much those heater ducts cause rattles

I had a rattle the same as the original poster but only when cold

removed side pannels, insert strips of foam between ducting and whatever they were touching/close to

no broblems with rattles now

Surely u can only get to the outer parts of the ducting tho. Also what type of foam strips did you use and where can you get them from?

So do you reckon that if i take the side panels off and ram some rag up there as far as I can. Just when I looked b4 you could only get around the outer vents.

foam as in car wash sponge

when you remove the side covers you can see with a torch quite a way in behind the dash

also if you remove the radio you can see up behind the middle vent ducting

get in there and have a good old rummage, don't be scared
