Am I right in thinking there isn’t one? Having just run out with no warning… Seems a pretty basic oversight on a techy car.

Funnily enough I was surprised I haven’t hit the low warning level yet, I’m using the same fluid since the car was delivered 2000 miles / 2 months ago. I’m guessing it’s a good 5L capacity or so?

I’m sure my old MK7 GTI had a warning light for low fluid, so odd if it’s not in later VAG models...

It is something around 5L, I've got almost a full bottle into mine before when it wasn't empty. The point about there being no low warning light is valid. It sucks running out when you're on a damp, salty motorway in the winter  .

According to the manual, the capacity is 3 litres (page 328) and again, according to the manual, there's a low washer fluid warning (see page 80), it should show on the digital dash as a yellow warning light. Mine's done 2.5k over 6 months and no sign of it running out or any warnings as yet.

Certainly feels like more than 3L. Perhaps the fan jets are just so efficient compared to what I’ve used before.

Just finished a 4k road trip in Poland from the UK, and with no warning no fluid! So this is quite usual??
Also we managed to charge up the pointless battery, no times whilst we were away :(. But the car was extremely comfortable especially on the initial 12 hour drive, however we did have to fill the petrol tank 4 times!

Just top up the washer bottle* when you do your weekly levels and tyre check? having a low level light is no use if you're half way to nowhere when it comes on, unless you carry a 5l container in the boot to top up.

* It might need a dribble or a lot but at least it's full.

I think the capacity of the thing is 3L however, if the fluid goes down the pipes to get to the back window, make sense that you can fit more. I always fill up the tank so I never though about the sensor. But I'm not surprise it doesn't have it.. They didn't think about backlighting the infotainment climate and volume, let alone a washer fluid warning.
It will be 1 year in mid August and I'm already thinking of selling it.

You took your time, I was thinking of selling it after 2 weeks. Just waiting for the new X1 and if the figures stack up it'll be gone. :ROFLMAO:
