Fist off all, i'm on mobile phone.

Just got in. Wipers worked fine as i tested them before goin out. Just before gettin home, i went to use them, drivers one moved up and stayed in place. It didn't wipe back down.

Just got in and i can hear what sounds like the motor, but the wiper ain't movin. I can also move up and down freely, unlike the passenger one which is solid as it should be.

Gonna have a look tomorrow. Suggestions please.

Cheers,

Mat

come on mat, dont be silly, you must know whats wrong

obviously motor is fine

Sorted! Didn't even have to use any tools.

Pulled away the rubber seal (might leave it off to hear more woosh from DV :cartman:), then remove some of the scuttle panel...

Basically, the arm that connects the 2 wipers together, had come off the drivers one. No nuts or anything, just push the drivers wiper into the recess in the arm :D

God I'm good!!!

:roflmao:

It was easier than doin the alphabet!

Now how's that go again?

ABCDFEHG......

Damn! Something is wrong there!

This is a known early expensive failure on some GM cars - ie Vectra and Signum, one trick is to cover the ball end with plastic sheeting to slightly increase its size to take up the wear on the socket end - then loosely fit two cable ties over "the lot" to kind of support and encourage the socket to stay on the ball.
