i reckon that noise is actually the brake discs. but can never be sure.
It sounds more like a belt to be honest. I'll ask Tony(jamie lol) for an expert opinion at work tomorrow

I hope not! I just got new discs and pads all round and 2 rear wheel bearings. My noise only happens on idle, and when its heated up. My mechanic is in hospital too need to find a non cowboy to take it too. I heard it was about £200 to replace a timing belt
I am going to order one from euro car parts its about £70 for the kit for the 16v.
mines only noisey on idle after 5 minutes it goes completely just annoying. best thing to do is first remove the power steering belt. if it doesnt make the noise its the power steering pump.
then remove the alternator drive belt, if it stops it could be anything driven from that including the tensioner. mine just sounds from within the timing cover.
i can get 16v one for 55 quid
tiggs
it might be powersteering pump/belt tbh, mine did a similar thing
