Well now then
The amount of Milltek exhausts we are selling now has increased by ALOT
So if we got a small percentage of warranty claims, then as the amount of exhausts we sell increases , so does the warranty

Now Milltek are very very good at warranty claims , and take each one individually

Can I as the OP have you called them?
Slating them on the forum , then expect help , dont really go hand in hand
If you want help , the best thing to do is ask
If I was you , hope they dont see this thread , then call

You have seen how they have helped others , but you have to make the call

To be fair , there was an issue with the TT ones , but that was down to some procedure in the manufacture of these , and that has been changed now

So I have had no issues with Milltek with bad , poor or even slightly slow customer service
Why not try it?

If you had of done it first , it may have saved you some cash ;)
Do you need a telepohone number? if soi I can PM you
Do it ;)

Update.

Leigh - (aka Ravey_Cupra) @ Milltek has sorted this and is going to send a replacement out to me. Thanks Leigh.

Unfortunately having not had to ever go through this process with an exhaust before and the statement about the receipt I assumed incorrectly. Superb service from Leigh and Milltek.

see Neil, told you they'd sort you out :)

now where's Adiohead :cartman:

You can now quote this thread :p

I think you can include Blueflame in this too although to be entirely fair it seems most of them suffer from it at some point which is the reason I would only buy one of these as new so the warranty is yours - at some point you ARE going to need it.

Anyone remember the cracked MK1 Leon downpipes that Blueflame suffered with when the system was first released?

Sure, they fixed it all under warranty but it would have been so much less hassle if it had been welded correctly in the first place.

Funnily enough, the Blueflame system on my S2000 has issues with some of the welds leaking, they'll fix it if i take it up to them or take it off the car and send it to them .... i'll end up getting someone local to fix it, someone who can actually weld competently with stainless steel.

Well mate, I hate to say I told you so but.....................................................

Why are you taking other people's "experiences" as being the bottom line. Do something about it yourself.

Get in touch with Milltek, explaining how disappointed you are and how let down you feel after being convinced by their "high quality" branding. Include a link to this thread and I think you might be surprised with how quickly they'll replace your backbox.

I told you so :happy::happy::happy:

Once again, top notch customer service from an excellent company.

I've heard bad things about Milltek's quality.

But you have no actual experience of running one? I'm not being funny mate, but there are literally tens of thousands of happy Milltek owners in the UK. You only ever hear from the vocal minority, something the OP very nearly fell into.

All products have the odd problem, and it is the odd problem. I've had 5 or 6 Milltek systems and not a single problem. The mark of the product is the company's willingness to stand by it and offer a lifetime warranty that they actually honour. This guy you are quoting as "won't sell them" sounds a bit bitter and twisted to me. He appears to be more worried about being out of pocket whilst waiting for a manufacturer credit than he is about serving his customers. He suggests on one hand that he cares about his customers and then in the same breath admits he'd hire somebody who'd work for nothing. That doesn't quite tie in with his vaunted "customer friendly" ethos and its not the sort of outfit that gets my business.

Large, established companies such as Awesome GTi, JKM etc don't seem to have any problems with being out of pocket when something needs exchanged, why do you suppose that is? Are you saying that they sell substandard garbage? I don't think they'd still be around or be anywhere near as big as they are if that were the case.

The whole idea of giving advice is that you actually have experience of the subject you are advising on. If you haven't owned, run and lived with a Milltek system, how can you be so sure that they're of poor quality? I've heard plenty of bad things about Tarox 8-pot calipers, but I've never ran a set so I don't go offering advice to steer clear of them.

It's very easy to be an armchair General. Some people make a very good living from it. Veilside tuning looks like he could well be one of them.

I've had a Milltek cat-back system on the LC for over 6 years now, and the matching 3" DP for the last 4 - NEVER had any issues with it at all. It has been nothing but ace :)
Gives a lovely noise, still looks ace and been VERY happy with it.

Definitely a top quality product from Milltek :)

Looking at the pictures of the damage it looks like the welder has used mild steel wire rather than stainless wire, an easy mistake to make or the wire could have been delivered wrong from the supplier.

Fair play to Milltek for sorting it.

Milltek

Can a milltek back box be put on a car that has no other Milltek exhaust parts?
Or can any decent exhaust place put it on and get a piece of replacement pipe to join it to the cat
It's off a Mk4 diesel golf so it's virtually the same car anyway

Happy days

Was told that the back box would only fit if I had the rest of the exhasut milltek aswell as it couldn't be attached to a standard centre section and cat
But knew that couldn't be true as surely a pipe could be made to fit between them
I'd be better off with a complete system but can't complain when I'm getting a well made back box for practically pennies
Cheers!

The bore of a Milltek is larger than on an OEM one
So may find there is a bit of a gap
Some you can put reducers on , but depending on what car you have , may depend on wether you could fit a reducer
What car is it and engine?
May know someone who can help depending on car

slightly changing the subject... ive got a LC 180 and dont like the twin exit back box that milltek do for these cars, but i seen the cupra r one is the nice oval shape? i was wondering if the milltek back box for the cupra r will fit to the other milltek pipes for my LC if you get my drift.. :)
i will be buying large bore de-cat so its all milltek straight through.. help me please ;)
