Hi Guys,

I am looking at the FR and Cupra Ibiza's and i was wondering if any of them came with Xenons as extra's.

Cant say i have seen any while looking.

there aren't many around, i've only ever seen one mk4 with xenons but it is a definite optional extra, and all the parts can be bought to do the conversion seperately.

comes at a hefty cost though i believe! might be better getting super bright blue bulbs - i'm sure some of the guys and girls on here will have done it though ;)

its not an option on the cupra, only the FR. the cupra has intercooler hoses in the way of where the light washers would go.

i bought mine separately for my cupra, got headlight clusters, bulbs and ballasts all cheap off ebay.. paid roughly £150 for the lot!

That makes sense now, I love the styling on the Cupra, but the FR is cheaper and has the xenon option:headhurt:

I have thought about them, there pretty smart, but i keep seeing pictures of them on the net but i want to see them first hand

but haven't you already got an fr scooby?

no mine is on order mate i bought one a few yr ago when i first joined this site but neveer picked it up due to finance problems so my mate bought it,

i ordered mine in august it was on a 12 wk delivery due to adding xenons and convenience pack as well as ordering white

that sounds cheap. is it oem? or some other make?

dont really need headlight washers do you?

well you are supposed to have headlight washers with xenons otherwise when there is muck the beam disperses everywhere, or thats what a vosa guy told me if ordered from factory it has to have them if you install yourself i dont know the rules

its all genuine kit.. the headlight clusters were £1.20 each so thats where i made a massive saving. Surprised noone else bid on them tbh, no reserve!

Yeh im supposed to have the washers but i wash my car enough to keep the headlights clean. Got everythign aligned too so no probs with blinding oncoming drivers :)

I had OE Xenons on mine, and TBH the washers didn't have much effect. Useful for soaking unsuspecting friends & cyclists, and they did help clear a bit of snow in the winter. However I found the flaps in the bumper froze shut in winter anyway....

I wanted Xenons but dont think they were around for the Ibiza in 2004 when I bought it. Looked at a place in aberdeen that would fit an aftermarket kit for £250 but decided against. Now running Phillips Blue Vision +30%, which in my opinion are much better than the pishy yellow thing the standard bulbs give off.

Xenons is something I've looked at, revisited and then looked at again.

Legally after market are illegal there are not many MOT place sthat actually check for washers just light allignment. However I have also asked a friend who owns a garage about after market xenons and it seems due to the slow increase in popularity the testers maybe checking these things in future.

Never heard of anyone being done by the fuzz for aftermarkets.

from the point of view of dealer parts whats the ball park price?
