Recently bought an AUQ cupra 1m. When i first checked the car it drove like a champion and still does, so when i looked in the engine bay and saw a big shiny silver DV i assumed it was a forge type recirc valve, however i failed to notice it seems to be an atmospheric dump valve given that the pipe that should connect to the DV outlet is bunged up. I do get a small woosh noise but nowhere near as loud as what my impreza used to be thats why i assumed it was a recirc.

My question is, can these engines be setup to run adequately with a BOV if they have been mapped properly or should i ditch the BOV and fit a forge 007?

In the cars history there was a graph showing a torque increase from revo tuning so its very possible the car has been re-mapped although without vag-com i cant confirm it.

Worth noting the car runs like a trooper, pulls hard and the turbo kick is phenomenal. Had a golf AUM a while back and it felt nothing like this.

Best advice on SC: fit a Forge 008/007 or Bosch 710N or APR R1.

It is possible to run a BOV, but you need to have the MAF mapped out, which people on here aren't fond of. Also you will lose TCS when the MAF is deleted.

I drive around with a BOV setup, as do many more here in the NL. If you have more questions, drop me a line.

On closer inspection it looks like a £25 ebay BOV effort so it will be getting ripped out cause i doubt you would go to the trouble of doing all that mapping to put a cheap BOV on. Think ill treat her to a forge DV, silicone TIP and boost hose set.

Thanks for the info

GFB look good as well so might consider one.

On a seperate note when i change to full recirc should i expect some running issues for a while given the MAF and other sensors will now be used to having the boost dumped and not recirc'd??

I personally wouldnt even run it like that as can cause problems.

So gonna be a vagcom trip to reset the fuel parameters once I put a diverter valve on and take the blow off valve off?

You wont need to reset anything when you change the blow off valve just swap them over. Doesnt have anything to do with fueling
