you know you have a mk2 when the poxy central locking packs up and you have zilch petrol and can't get the fuel flap open,arrrrgh!

Behind the carpet in the boot on the drivers side, strip it back until you can see the central locking pump and there should be abit of white string/lace, if you pull that it pulls the pin down that holds the petrol cap shut.

And hopefully it should open. :thumbup:.

Oh and it may be worth pulling it through the vent type holes in the carpet and leaving it there, just incase.

managed to ping the flap using the old screwdriver covered in latex trick as too dark to see bugger all in the boot properly,cheers for the heads up though,nothing like a fumble in the dark on a cold evening:cartman:

lol!! i didnt have a respray but i think it has had one in the past cos like you say theres no fading what so ever or laquer peel and there are bits of overspray on the grill and the splitter!
 
mine was a magically appeared whilst at work kinda ding so can't even hit anyone up for the cost :( will have to wait though as all my dollar is being ploughed into Thumper at the mo :) bring on the xmas bonus!
 
well it depends on the paint code. some dont need laquar and some do. i asked the bird who made it in halfords about mine and she said its fine without!!
