After a recent tread on the TT forum i though i would see what you guys though..

If you have a 1.8t engine in good condition and well looked after with 115,000 miles on the clock. If you then did a big turbo conversion are you running the risk off blowing a head gasket or doing something nasty as apose to doing the conversion on a car with 45,000..?

What things should you look out for in a high mileage 1.8T engine that could cause problems due to wear apart from piston rings..?

:)

200psi is brand new.

Limit is 110 irrc and i'd be lookin at gettin the spread on all 4 cylinders within 10%.

Do a search on Vortex to see what comes up.

I'm just about to have my car back after my valve stem oil seals and guides were worn, which lead to burning oil. Also found out my wrist pins were worn when i changed the rods. Crank and bores were pretty good tho, i was gettin 185's on them all.
