Home Made IC Spray System

A company down near me sells this spray kit. It looks very good but i have always had my doudts as to how much difference these kits really make on a car thats used as a daily road car if you already have a good FMIC since we don`t tend to get that much in the way of really hot weather.

Thats where i've been looking at the spray bay, as i can see with the force of the air from the car being driven, i can see the water spraying across much of the area of the I/C.
Where as the spray bar should distribute it across a larger area.

I don`t see the point in fitting a pair of jets on a FMIC since by the time you get to 30ish mph the water sprayed will only hit a very small area of the FMIC if any at all.
Without that pipe, every time you use the spray the water will continue to syphon from the bottle until its empty, this is the only way i could stop it.
Some sort of pressure releif valve may work but i was to lazy to look for one. I did try a one way valve in the direction of flow hoping that would have enough of a restriction, but i didn't.
It probably cost about £ 50 - 60 in total, but not totally sure as i got pipes and jubilee clips for nothing.

you could still use that switch so that the boost switch would only work when you turn the switch on in the car so your not always using it

No mate, I got a metal one with a reasonably strong sring in it and it still syphoned passed.
I see your point, but we put jets on the CRX we turbo'd and it made a big difference, it pulled harder and smoother. Not saying i will get the same results.
Do like the look of the spray bars though.
how about matt if you run the water lines lower then the jets so that the water couldnt travel up if you know what i mean
yeah but there not so thats why you need the other pipe but what im saying is that if you run the water pipes lower then the jets even if the water bottle is higher it should stop the leaking
Possibly would work but didn 't try, although the syphoning effect works uphill too, Have a go and report back.
if you get a bit of clear pipe, hold it in a 'U' shape and poor water in one side the water will always level on both sides unless there is an air lock
