^^^^ As fitted to my 485bhp seat ibiza ^^^^

PM or email me for details

Love it Love it Love it:p

It would look nice in my living room - all that pipework looks expensive, any problems with cracking ?

One step at a time I think for me - my weedy Gt28 is still going to be a challenge for me, especially with the heat it's gonna generate.

Nice phots thou.

What Rods are you using, I hear alot about the SCAT rods on VWVortex, they are quite reasonable as well - do you know if they are any good ?

What do you use and how much, I think if I'm gonna go for 350BHP I need to change the rods as well otherwise the std ones will bend at hi RPM and boost.

turbo and manifold should be here next week - so standby for the phots.

By the way how do I put a photo on the thread.

TSR previously mapped it.

If I've got to take it to Norwich, I'll have to hire a trailor and take it there - then drive it back.

It will still be driveable Andy, I'll be able to conjure you up a map to get you there seeings how I've done over 20 cars now. It might be a bit lumpy here and there though :D and you'll have to promise to take it easy.

no cracks. but then again its new so there should'nt be LOL.
My previous cast mani's have all cracked/warped so no biggie.... but in the event mine does, its weldable easily unlike cast.
Something I have noticed so far is heat... Massive radiant heat from the stainless steel mani & DP, but boy does it cool quick... unlike the cast mani I used to run. Cooldown is much faster on my current setup, but you do need to heat shield anything which see's the radiant heat.

Scat rods are cheap as... on vortex.. temped to get a set or two in for stock. I run eurospec rods, which I think are similar ilk... (to look at)

If doing the job money no object, I would do it again with Pauters, rifle drilled to pressure lube the small ends.

Fitting stuff into your Elise will no doubt determin what you can and cant use.

What you using to intercool?

There is a custom made intercooler which sits on the RHS of the car - It's the largest that will fit in the space available.

The RHS rear engine scoop has been enlarged to get as much air in there as poss - no more room for anything else i'm affraid.

When I went out in bernards 1st one - with tdi 'box and k04 it was shockingly fast

But the intercooler into the 'duct' had the whole inlet system stone cold - very very effective placement

Mmmmm I didn't know Bernard ran a TDi box

- I thought he was running the same as me which is a 6 speeder

- In fact I'm positive he is, the 6 speeder is from a Cupra or Cupra R - 2WD but our engines are in the back.

If anyone wants a spin before I convert - drop me a line, if you live close by.

I've been told my turbo and manifold are in the post !!

Can't wait.:D

TDi 'box is still a 6 speed. I remember him asking lots of questions about Cupra/Cupra R 'boxes, and I remember him being interested in a diesel 'boxes higher ratios...

Edit: found it:

Hi again

According to some of the measurements I've taken it seems to do 0-100 in about 9 secs. Might be crap but it does 80-100 in less than 2.5 anyway. Not that I would ever go that fast !! It would be real interesting to put the Datron gear in it, maybe at the weekend. Please please :)

I was thinking of using an AD595AQ thermocouple amplifier to drive the ECU 0-5V input, and also use its output for an LCD dash display. Didn't realise OMP did instruments.

One thing I haven't mentioned is that it has the diesel 6 speed box so the ratios are super tall. The breaker man conned me and I didn't know all the part numbers at the time. Think what it would go like with some sensible ratio's :).

Bernard

Sounds like he wasn't happy with it though

Andy,

I'd be interested in seeing the Turbo and manifold before its fittted if thats OK. I only live near Shaftesbury and often go to the cinema in Yeovil.
Trying to decide on turbo and manifold for my project.

originally - it was fitted by mistake

140 in 4th by the end of the sliproad, very very nutty

Minimivic,

it should be here next week and available for you to have a look next Sunday.
I'm getting a local tuning shop (Performance 3000) to make the downpipe in 3" for me.
By the way - if anyone of you running K04 - they are making a tubular full bore manifold for the 20VT that will actually fit the RHD car.

I know this because they have my old cast version and they sent it to the USA to be copied.
The manifold will be tried out on Bernards 20VT Elise as a test bed. It should fit and leave everything in EXACTLY the same place.

If any of you are interested - I will let you know when it arrive as we will be the first to try it out.

Cheers

By the sounds of it, quite a few people would be interested in knowing when it's available, although they've been advertising one for all while.

It'd be interesting to know where they've sent it to (why the states  ), because I'm never entirely sure the LHD and RHD K04 manifolds are different

I don't know why they've sent it to the States either - I guess that's where there suppliers and fabricators are.

Not too sure why they are different in terms of LHD and RHD I guess it's something to do with clearances and steering ?

I had a tubular manifold sent from the States and they said it would fit - i took one look at it and knew it wouldn't. The K04 is bolted onto the manifold and biased to the LHS of the car, ths one was biased to the RHS of the car.

Hence that's why i've sent them a TT 225, S3 and Cupra R cast manifold from a RHD K04 equiped car - if they copy it exactly I know it will fit.

Not too sure how much it will be - at a guess under £400 but I can find out and post a photo when it arrives.
