No we don't have brake servos and anyway the brake thinghys are in the front and the engine is in the back so not a problem.

The compressor outlet is pointing to the floor on purpose. A samco 90 will take it straight to the intercooler.........very efficient !!

I've taken the head off and the pistons looks good, I need to get the valve guide seals replaced. Anyone know how to compress the chain tensioner so I can take the cams out ?..........and no I have not got that special tool.

gear cables not in the way?

Hi everyone,

sorry it's taken so long to post something else but I've been busy....see below

Most of the custom stuff has been made, I've spent alot of time managing the heat side of things.

Rolling road is one week today - - wish me luck

Pretty sure I saw your car at TSR at a VW rolling road day think it must have been towards the end of last year, really nice. Where you taking it for the rolling road and mapping then?

:-o Wow that looks tight, excellent looking engine bay though, this thing should be an absolute fcuking rocket when you get everything completely finished and get it back on the road. Deffo be a ferrari beater

Curpa's,

Emerald are doing the Mapping for me. I have a base 317BHP map in the ECU that is for the IHI turbo and Jabbasport manifold - although the boost has been turned downon my map.

I'm currently driving the car with no more than 3000RPM and 0 Boost but occassionally booting it to 0.5bar ! WOW !!

I don't want to do anything stupid before Monday !! I have an Emerald ECU so it make sense to go to them...........should be a really boring 250mile drive up there - but looking forward to the drive home !!

Yes it was me a TSR last year running a mear 250BHP - but she did sound awesome on the rollers didn't she. I remember she span the wheels in 1,2,3and 4th - Neal did the run in 5th in the end ----so Monday should be mad.

Hope she doesn't blow !!

Andy C

P.S Glad to take any co-pilots for a run out when I get back !

I'll get the hang of this inserting photos one day......try again.

P.S If I was to check torque my head does anyone know what the final torque value is ?

The manual says 40nm then 180 deg rotation - but what does this mean in terms of final toque value.

I'm up for a trip in it Andy, getting rather bored at the mo as well as i'm off work and can't drive my car! U don't happen to work for a certain helicopter manufacturer in Yeovil do you?

Yes i do work for a certain helo Company - Why do you recognise any of the bits fitted to my car.

Only the best aircraft grade components for her mind !! It would of cost me fortune in bits, clips and ties.........it's even got heat protection from an EH101 and Challenger tank..............there's just some bits you can't buy fromDemon Tweeks.

Andy C

Do recognise couple of the bits there yes might as well get used if they are there! Damn sight better than having to buy it yourself! I take it its the yellow elise I have seen parked up near flight test then.

Difficult to say what the Tq would be, depends on so many variables, oiled threads etc etc. I would imagine anyone connected with the 'copter shop would appreciate that.

I still smile when recounting stories of my timein the flight shed. A few years back mind, before the 101s were shipped out for the RAF. I did see the Apache fly though, never seen so many 'suits'

Well guys she didn't blow up.

Dave walker did a sterling job on the rollers. I took it up there (bloody long way) to Emerald and I fitted the 630cc injectors.

Dave mapped the car perfectly - although the cold air feed to the airfilter kept on crushing flat as the car came onto boost - it took us a bit of time to sus why the turbo was making boost and then it dropped to Zero !!

We disconnected the cold air feed and hey presto - perfect, loads of boost etc.

Anyway - we kept the power to sensible levels for the Elise and she made :-

320 BHP and 280 ft / lb torque...............not back considering she only weighs 800kg.

I'll post the power curves tomorrow.:-o

The drive home was interesting - must have got some air in the clutch hydraulic system and was stuck in 6th gear for 200 mles.

The only time I gave it some beans................I sh*t myself and it was only at 0.7bar of boost :-o (1.5Bar peak !!) Roll on the dry weather.

If anyone has seen big turbos on the Rolling road before they know it's scary stuff - I told Dave the last time I was that nervous ........my missus was giving Birth !!

I've been glad to chat to you Cupra lot............thanks for you encouragement !!
If you want any more photos or info - drop me a line
