Agree about the new shape Leon. Maybe seeing a new Cupra in the flesh will change my opinion though.

You getting DSG? (or whatever they're calling it now)

If you really hate the S3 I'll swap it with my car ;)

You can't get:

DSG / S-tronic
Electric seats
Magnetic ride suspension
OE window tints

on an S3. You can get all of these on the Sportback which suprises me, and I was concerned that they would release an SE version of the S3 with some/all of the above in due course. However I read a press release at the dealers which the salesman had and it said that the S3 would not be released with DSG as it was not felt to be in keeping with the raw driver experience of an S car (hence why you can get an S4 with an auto box!!). If it was an option I would have ordered it as it was the only interesting part of the TT3.2 V6. Absolutely loved it.

I still think they should do the new S3 engine in the new TT.
Would be a much better combination than the heavier V6 imo.

Shame you cant get those extras. DSG / S-tronic is one of the things I'd really like from an Audi. (Apparently the Seat version doesn't get the paddle-shift? :|)

We all know that the LCR is the fastest car in the universe and nothing will ever be able to outrun it... Not even light.

Hmm... now where's the sarcastic clapping thing on this?

NO IT'S NOT................ because its not a cupra TDI lmfao:lol:

Wel friend you made a good decision. I had before me today 10 of the new s3's. All with different styles of alloys seats sat nav etc... They really are a good looking car. Although we werent allowed to touch i had a good nose around and fell in love with the recaro leathers with the red leather inserts.mmmm yes.very nice indeed, i cannot comment on performance or drive as i said werent allowed to touch but i think its one book worth judging by its cover. Good move

Came up behind an M3 last night on way home,i only have a 180 Cupra and....fuk me them M3's are rapid!

Completely left me for dead.

I never expected to beat him or even keep up with him, just wanted to see how fast they were...and the answer is...very!

had a bit of a race with an Audi S6 just 10 mins ago on my lunch break. The rounded rear model - I think its 2002 or 2003? anyway he left me standing on launch but I made back the distance and kept up - the car has black smoke coming out when he floored it - could it be a knackered car?

If it was a genuine RS6 you wouldn't stand a chance, they're 4.2 V8 bi turbo monsters with 444bhp. They'll shame M3's not to mention Leons.

Coxw - Interesting to read your comments, I totally agree, i have a 225 LCR and love it. Unfortunately I often take it for granted untill i'm forced to drive something else. I will want to upgrade to Audi or such like soon but i'm thinking I might just buy REVO to keep me interested for a bit longer, would you recomend it? how much difference does it REALLY make?

Cheers

He said S6, not RS6. But thats largely irrelevant because it was probably red mist he saw, not black smoke.

Even the new diesel A6 will leave a Cupra behind. With that 3 litre turbo diesel they are very fast once they are doing more than about 50mph

Had a A4 2.5 TDI off the lights once both going for it, but only had him by a nose! About 2 foot! And that was when I was standard! :p Much rather have a Leon than any four-wheels-on-a-board rubbish, if you know what I mean! ;)

Isnt black smoke unburnt fuel or something?? Isnt this common with large powered turbos???????? or am i talking crap?

Black smoke normally occurs when a diesel down gears.

Unburnt fuel in high powered turbo cars normally produces a flame from the exhaust

not if it is a standard exhaust, my LCR does it, and several i have followed also do the same. I remember seeing a cav turbo one night at a cruise, black smoke coming out on the gear change, i asked the chap why and he told me, oh its unburnt fuel.....but im no mechanic, all i know is when Spaniels FR dumps it, its not black smoke, its a bloody fog out.....lol, damn derv tractor boys..

Mine just pops and crackles at me, but then again I don't think I'd want flames coming out the back of mine as I've just had a new bumper put on. :D
