de-pressurising fuel system

Anyone got any idea of the correct method of de-pressurising the fuel system on the Leon?

Need to change my fuel filter tomorrow morning, as it's split. So I need to de-pressurise the system to stop petrol p1ssing everywhere when I disconnect the filter !!!

I know on the Mk2 Ibiza you remove the fuel pump relay, and turn the engine over.

Probably something simialir on the Leon, but not such which relay is the fuel pump one

do as I do, pull each relay in sequence, turn the igntion - when you can't hear the fuel pump - you've found it

Probably a bad answer, but disconnect the battery and pop the FPR out?

suppose it might list them in the manual.....

or on the inside of the fuses box cover (like on the Mk2 Ibiza!)

if its split it and pissing out fuel it will have lost its pressure.
when mine went i didnt need to de-pressurise it.

I wouldn't say it's pissing out fuel, more a case of a drip......

for future reference, the fuse panel on the Leon is in the right hand end of the dashboard !!

had to get the manual out to find out where it was !!!

the fuel pump fuse is number 28. There's a list in the manual, and then a diagram by the fuse panel identifying the fuses !

Only took me about 30mins to do the whole job...
