See, it's irresponsible threads like this that cause me to spend every penny of my wages on modifications for my vehicle!

Really, you should all be ashamed.

:D

The way i justify it mate....

If i spend all my wages on the car, the missus cant use instead to buy clothes/boots/shoe/jewellery with it...

Ahh.. you and your missus have crossed-swords about how the cash should be spent? Well, sir, that makes you.. a chump! Hollie knows the score, she doesn't even ask me to spend car-cash on clothes :D

Mind you, I do treat the little lady every so often........ to a £10 gift-voucher valid at Matalan!!!!! (I kid.. she keeps me skint, 24/7... someone help...)

Its not on how its spent... its more a game of how knows when i get paid and get to the money first.... lol
This is when internet buying catches her out everytime.. i brought it before i even get thou the door...and the best bit as its car parts.. she never knows how much a part costs... she still thinks that the wheels cost me £400....
Oh my skin would be potato peelings if she only knew.... ;)

I told my wife that I was going to see a bloke from SCN in Norwich to have a tinker with my car.

In reality I went to a revo dealer and spent the best part of a grand on revo + SPS3 + 007 DV :)

It's not really lying is it?

Nope.. it isn't lieing if.... my "story" isn't.

Told Hollie my XR2 had suffered extensive "corrosion" in the exhaust, manifold, carbs department and "had" to replace them with low-cost alternatives: Ashley Motorsport! Come on down!

New 4-branch manifold, full s/s system and a nice set of 10,000 mile use Twin 40 carbs.. Naturally, she was happy I hadn't spent money needlessly on "performance" parts, and I'd been grown-up and responsible whe selecting cheaper alternatives.

God I own.

Not many companies left still manufacturing for the CVH 1.6 XR2 man.. Scorpion is an alternative, but I wasn't prepared to pay their prices :)

60,000 miles on a C plate XR2. Shame the car rotted around the engine :) Also, I went for the quiet exhaust option; fear not.. people weren't deafened by my braaaap braaaaap zorst :)

yeh, back to topic :)

Has any one ever brought the Chrome LED Tail light ?? if so any pics? got a Black Sport didnt know if they would look smart?

They would look awful IMO. They would be a bright, shiny silver thing sticking out like a sore thumb on an entirely black area!

Everything around them - bumpers, tailgate, window, arches etc - will be black, so silver will stand out like crazy and will look awful. The Leon is a well styled, subtle, not OTT looking car and fitting chrome lights goes completely against this!

Keep an eye out for any one of the thousands of Chavved up Saxo's, Corsas, Festers or other such cars and you'll see what I mean.

I'm going to be an old fuddy duddy here, but I don't think they work on a Leon. The whole shape of the standard light assembly doesn't work asthetically with round lights IMO. Sure they look ok at night but thats because you can't see the light assembly. IMO if you want round lights to look good in daylight you have to go the whole hog and get rear panels made up with round light assemblys, like you would see on a Ferrari.

As for LEDs sorry but I've never been a fan. Don't like the move to them on Motorbikes either. They just look cheap and tacky to me no matter how well designed, (I'll always equate them with heavily modded jap cars that all the kids cruise in in Tokyo). If I was going to go for a round ring look I would make it a solid ring.
