currently.. well not this *exact* second me and a friend are under my car putting the standard suspension back on my car ready for it to go back to the stealers in the week.

i went to a garage and they quoted me £200 for it. daylight robbery i say, backs done now, piece of piss.

i hope the fronts are as easy... tho i think i am doing my friends head in with all the "oooooooooooooooooooooooooh.. whats that" questions and then demanding a full history of what it does and why and how it affects the car. :|

:D

but roll on next week.. dont know what day yet, but by the end of the week i should have the new brum!

*so excited you have *no* idea*

lol nope.. i have been wiggling things, undoing thing, holding things, turning things, standing on things to move them down so springs can come out. i am utterly filthy atm, these clothes will need to be burned!!!

i love doing things like this as once i have helped or been shown once i am able to do them again by my self with no trouble.

it has koni shocks and eibach springs on it, lowered 30mm and they are all coming off and the standard seat suspension is back on.

Are you selling them?

yars, they will be up for sale once i have them cleaned up and phototed. they are yellow.. with outside parts of iron oxide red on them mind!

they have covered about 25K miles. they have been checked and they are still perfectly fine.

I meant what car was it from, wondering if the suspension will fit mine. But it wont if it's come from a TDi. Cheers anyway :)

umm.. you seem to be misunderstanding me. the suspension on a TDI is no different .. a leon chassis is a leon chassis.. there is no difference. front springs may be stiffer on a derv.. but thats talking about the standard suspension only.

the koni suspension will fit *any* mk1 leon and any mk4 Golf.

No it wont, it will not fit an LCR I'm afraid as these have a different setup to the rest of the Leon range. They are part Audi S3 and part Mk4 Golf.

Fronts are a tad more tricky.... but easily DIYable

rears as you found out are a walk in the park

got the spring compressor ready and waiting for the morning!

i recon i could easly do the backs again by myself now.

funny.. brother called me today, hes blown the head gasket on his 1.4 104 pug.. and asked me if i can fix it... meh.. worth a shot!

*dies*

my hands are utterly UTTERLY non girlie right now. covered in holes, dents and bruizes. :cries:

the principle behind it is easy, and again, should i ever need to do that again i will have no problem doing so, but its just.. GAH. things were stuck places, whacking away with the hub seperator, screw drivers, you name it, and then realising they werent lined up, then having just taken the spring compressors off.. realising that we should have left them on.

put it all back together, drove it down the road, *rattle rattle* we had forgotten to tighten the top mounts up. oops.

but it feels utterly strange. its like going from being on a roller coaster to being on a ferry.

cant wait to see the back of it!

but knowing me.. as i do dig the leons, i'll probally get another one in a few years or something.
