i run a 2000 cupra, like said before 180brake as standard, i've had mine at about 130mph on the moterway but i bottled it well before the car. very happy its the most fun i have ever had in a car and i've owned faster cars. there is honistly nothing i have driven that i would rather take for a early sunday morning b road blast

Top speed is more than you're likely to hit, so I wouldn't worry about that. And don't get too caught up on 0-60 times as in a powerful FWD car, that's really not the strong point... midrange acceleration when on the move is the fun part ;) Power is 180bhp, so plenty to have some good fun :D

your buying a car and you dont know the basics?
have you even driven it?

top speed... does it matter?

Exactly what I was thinking.

Your buying a car and you are asking basic questions which I would have thought someone would have researched before considering "buying tomorrow". I have been doing my homework for around 1 month now and I think after about 10 questions, I am happy that I will be buying the Cupra-R.

Just wondering what price you are paying for the car and whether it would be a sensible option to buy a Cupra-R instead since you are asking top speed questions etc.

As for the Leon Cupra;
180bhp (can be upgraded via a REVO remap upto Cupra-R standard for around £500)
Top speed is around 135mph (although you won't be hitting this on British roads of course)
I think you will be happy (but depends of course if you are coming from a Citroen Saxo or a Ferrari Enzo I guess)

Cheers - Cobraman

I've had over 135 out of mine. No mods. BHP should be ~180. 0-60 is around 7.7 secs

You'll be very happy if you get one with the basic problems sorted.

Namely, imo, Door Seals, Temp Sensor, Coolant Level Sensor, Coil Packs - not overly expensive, but annoying and potentially damaging.

What are you driving at the minute? And again what are you buying (year, mileage, price etc)?

Had mine just over 6 months and it's lovely, flat out 130 then bottled it definitely still wanted to go more though.

Have fun.

1. I've had a speedo indicated 145mph and it wasn't done pulling (private road of course) which is probably nearer 140 true speed
2. 180
3. hell yes :funk:

Top speed is pointless but according to Seat it will do 143mph and 0-62 in 7.7. It will also do around 30mpg.

Also get a front lower strut brace fitted it improves the turn in no end.
