Yes my mistake .....and by what he has said he has got..it sounds as its a vnt18 housing (compressor) mated to a vnt20 housing (turbine) ....unlike just fitting larger wheels in smaller housings.

might well be,,, a lot less work involved,,,lisa, shtrumfy here has a 18/20 hybrid, as per post #58![]()
how much does it take, btw, for someone with a VT5 to take a look at the turbo and see what's written on it??
All part numbers have been removed. VT5 comes with a new cast manifold(please point this out to Steve Lisa after i read a post of his on TDI club saying he knew it was steel wielded one, Allards don`t do steel manifolds) custom oil feed lines etc and if you check out pictures of my engine bay it sits high up behind the engine.
And one more thing a company i know who re-work every conceivable turbo on the market to very high hybrid spec's/standard were approached by Allard to produce turbo's for them .....and i was told from someone who works there what there turbo spec's were/are for said tdi conversions.....
.
If the VT5 install was only a 4 or 5 hour job then I wonder why my car was there for over a week.I've yet to look at my turbo, but should be able to get a gander on saturday when my car goes on a ramp. I won't be taking any close-up pics though, to respect Allard's technical work.
but our forth coming company will be picky and want to do so.
Anyone know what a 2275 compressor wheel is??
so are you gonna get down to business in the tuning scene??
Can also confirm that the VT5 takes around 4 days to have fitted and not 4 hours.![]()
