LCR Oil

Probably a stupid question but.. ... I bought some Castrol Edge 5-30 oil today so that I can top up the LCR. My only concern is that it is unlikely that the dealer used this oil at the service and so will be mixing two different brands.

ls this likely to cause any problems?

not recomended mate, just drain it and change the filter while your at it!

hmm, if your only topping up a little it should tie you over till the next service, mixing 2 brands may not be recommended but at least u get the protection you need for a while.

i had no record what was used at the last service, so just topped mine up. eeek. didn't think it would be a problem. oh well service next month anyway.

Wheres the best place to get Synta gold? Had mine serviced a few weeks back and i also bought Castrol Edge 5-30 as i thought it would be ok for a top up.
I'v not had to top up since the service tho, as the oil has not moved from the top mark for almost 8 weeks since the service.

My local dealer says SEAT use Mobil1 Semi-Synthetic oil, nearly had kittens when they said they were using that on my service!
NO! Use fully synthetic i said, he claims thats extra, worked out 6 quid more but they did give me the oil that was left over, bout a litre, handy for top ups!

i was going to use castrol edge for my service, how much do i need to buy for them to replace the oil?
any comments on whats the best grade for the LCR

just get a 5ltr one and make sure they give you the wee bit left, just about a ltr!
