not yet, the ECU is en route still

Oh, but I've sold the Cupra interior, and will be putting my bucket (and another new one) in the car - flat panel the rear seat base (the boot in the vario is already raised) - and I've bought a rear strut brace also.

ECU's landed, and has a whole £23 to pay in duty :D

no big deal since it's still about 30% of the price had I bought it in the UK

Strutbrace is also en route

Exhaust will go on today, and a couple of other tidying jobs. I'll probably take the ECU on holiday with me to assemble (beats watching TV)

Where did you source the exhaust from Mark?

Sounds like your holiday will be fun! Have you got a "back on the road" target date?

The exhaust came from http://www.onlineautomotive.co.uk/ - cheapest place I could find on the web, then I saw they were only at Sixfields, so that saved £15 on delivery too.

on the road isn't too far off, just needs an MOT really.

the ECU will 'do' emissions test standing on it's head, so I'll just map it get to the MOT station & back, then I can do the job properly when I'll legally be able to drive it

probably need some new tyres on the rear while I'm messing about too, and a bit of paint where I taped up the windows (and it ripped the paint off) and I need to finish off polishing it - I did about 1/3rd of a door the other month which had been encrusted with the Carbon Metalic brake dust

Tell me about it! I was having a look into MegaSquirt myself the other week (I had a bit of a project in mind and was wondering...) and was gobsmacked by the difference in price between sourcing the bits in UK vs. US. And what with the exchange rate at the mo...

Ahh, Parts Plus! I don't normally use them as they can be a bit useless sometimes. I'm sure you'll be alright though.

I have some 195/45/16 Contis in my garage, I was gonna eBay them but if you're interested I won't bother.

indeedy - the UK one was about £275 'tested' vs £75 in kit form, so I opted for £200 less, about bought more stuff.

it will come like this:

ms122-k_bl2_lg.jpg

but it reckons only 5hrs to assemble it - which won't be hard as it's all very basic through hole stuff

an assembled one is only $240, so it's no big deal either way.

...Cant belive the ECU's that cheap  Must get one for my project...
From my reading on the subject, it would apear that a vanilla MegaSquirt will handle fueling only. You need to go to a MegaSquirt2 if you want control of the ignition aswell. At which point, if paying UK prices, there's not a massive jump before you're into the land of off the shelf programmable ECU's...

no, I'm leaving the dizzy to do it's thing, and controlling fuelling at first.

if you just power the coil, it will continue to work just as before.

Then once I have the Fuelling sorted, it'll hook up EDIS & run that instead
