You should have done! People might start to read the stickies then. I mean, how often do we have threads asking for part numbers, suspension information, ownership comparisons (such as this thread) etc when the info is all there already, right at the top of the forum! I mean, it's right next to the button you press to start a new thread! ;)

Didn't mean to cause a stir...

I'll be on my way then...;)

Thanks for all your thoughts anyway...thinking I might treat myself to the Cupra R but will still keep you posted...

Thing is you can compare the pure stats from a number of websites, I think asking for people opinions (this thread) is the next step if you're still struggling after looking at the stats.

I love my Cupra TDi though, prefer the front to the R's. I'm strange I know!

That's me reasoning behind starting the thread. I just wanted opinions from people that have driven one or both, given how I intend to use it. And it's been really, really helpful.

Doesn't sound like you can beat the 'thrill' factor of a Cupra R - I'm going to test drive a couple, and then maybe talk turkey at the weekend. Ooh, excited...

howdy, I had a remapped 110 and loved the absolute brutal torque from it but thats all i liked about it.. i hated the smell pulling out of the driveway, i hated the noise of the engine, i hated the short shifting, just wasnt for me at all.. so then i upgraded to a CupraR.. it was the best thing I did. The fuel bills are big when you drive fast but if you take it slow when your not in a hurry the bills will come down. If im in economic mode!!, i find staying below 2000rpm keeps the trips to the petrol station a good bit further apart
