I really don't know the answer so have a look at the fuses and the inside of the fuse box lid for little icons to help you find somthing that works with key in pos1 but not with key out and test with the selected fuse removed be careful not to remove any airbag fuses as a trip th the stealers will be required to reset the fault light or as you say read the fookin' manual
