As some of you know I have had an accident with my Silver LC recently. With the insurance payout I will be buying a Black LC, 2006 model (mk. 1, 1.8T FR) with less miles than my car had, so all is better in the end.
I have a few questions, I'm aware that they may have come up before, but at the stage I am at I don't have the luxury of having parts in front of me to see/try. Everything I order has to be perfectly the right size/type as shipping is expensive, takes time and customs here charge 20% on car parts.
I am looking at the WORK EMOTION XT7 wheel, but I need to order the size correctly. I will be installing D2 coilovers so that should increase clearance a little, but the sizes available in 5x100 bolt pattern are:
18x7.5: +48, +42, +35
18.8.5: +46, +38, +32, +25
I would prefer the wider rim, the price difference is minimal, but I need a wheel that will not cause tyre rubbing. After searching it seems +35 is the ideal offset for the Leon? if so would +32 18x8.5 fit as I also want the wheel arches to be filled out without using spacers?
plus, a wider wheel/tyre would look very good on the car, I know it goes against being FWD and all, but if there are no adverse side effects aside from more expensive tyres then I will do that. The sizes available are:
18x9.5: +38, +30, +20, +12
At the moment I'm I'm thinking 18x8.5, +32 for the front, and 18x9.5, +30 for the rear. any ideas? heres a pic of the wheel:
