Hi

Been away from the Cupra scene for a bit

Sold my Cupra R back in December (Due to Financial Reasons)
Got a little VTS to run around in, but need something a little more special
again.

HELP ME OUT PLEASE.

would u guys get another Cupra R or do i try something else:

Coupes
Audi TT 225bhp
Hyandai Coupe v6
Alfa GTV V6
BMW Coupe?
RX8
350Z
BOXTER

Hatches
Cupra R 225
Alfa 147 GTA
focus RS
focus ST
Astra VXR
r32 (old shape)
golf gti anniversary

Personally, my next car's a Boxter S. But it's not gonna be cheap to run, even if it IS a poor-man's porsche...

I'd say get the 350Z. They're bloody nice lookin' cars.

2 different category of cars coupe's and hatches, it depends how practical you need a car to be. Personally LCR, TT, Focus ST/RS and 350Z. But stay away from Alfa Romeo's THEY ARE SHITE MOTORS AND WILL ONLY LET U DOWN

Sorry forgot to say

budget probaly 14k tops (will be on finance)
although i could spend 8/9k on a Hyandai coupe v6

so boxter/350z maybe a bit out of range.

practability doesnt matter
so even elise would be possible
as the g/f has a clio

just really miss my revo'd cupra R

could get a 20k miles cupra r for 12/13k

or 40k miles TT for 14k

so maybe the R wins

just want u guys to back me up

Never used to like the TT cos of it's hair dresser image, but their growing on me, and inspite of the Nissan badge coupe's wise it's gotta be either TT 225 or 350Z, wouldn't buy a Boxter cos it's seen as a poor mans 911 by many.

Hot hatches it's gotta be either LCR 225 or R32, i don't think bang per buck you can go wrong with the LCR Tbh...

This is all presumming i had that kind of money to spend on a car in the first place, but one car not mentioned is in my opinion the best underrated sport car available today is Honda's S2000, 9 thou rev limit vtec engine and 240bhp, got to be at least a consideration in my book, and a better drivers car than the boxter any day of the week, IMO

14k could get you an import 350Z or a high miler - I looked at one before I got my LCR, and thought the LCR was far more practical.

The new TT looks much better than the old one, but it doesn't look like money will stretch.

I can't be arsed with topping up the oil every fortnight so the RX 8 would be out for me.

Beamers/golfs are too common IMHO - and the old shape R32 wasn't distinctive enough from the rest of the range.

Narrows it down to the LCR or the VXR - that was the choice I made in the end, and I thought the LCR was a better looking, better driving car - and I'm loyal to SEAT.

Stay away from the Hyundai, as "hot" cars, they just cant compete.

The RX-8's are nice but being a rotary engine they burn a f**k load of oil.

LCR 225 or Honda S2000 for me. :)

the hyundai coupe 2.7v6 is a well under rated motor. but is still not match for the lcr etc. however i had my old one supercharged :) which put it into the sti group of performance.

I'd go for an imported Nissan S15 Silvia with that budget [B)] or a Leon Cupra LCR if you need the practicality of a hatchback.

cheers for the replies

had a look around and a low milage cupra r is without a doubt
the best value.

and i rekon there are more tuning options for the R
in comparison to the VXR/ST-2
and i much prefewr the interior of the R

but mainly its a 4k saving on the loan
for a car i like as much if not more

Out of that list.... I'd go with the Alfa 147GTA. Nothing else has the style, presence, or sheer driving thrills or will make you feel the same way.

Just ignore the people who tell you that every single Alfa will break down.... as 9 times out of 10 those are people who have never owned an Alfa. They are by no means the most reliable car around, but they are much better than their reputation suggests and most problems you'll have are petty things, like minor electrical problems.

Drive one, listen, feel, love :D

From your lists I'd go for:

Coupes - 350Z or Boxster (I'd also add the S2000 to that list)

Hatches - Cupra R, Focus ST and VXR in that order

if you must have an alfa try and get the autodelta 147 gta 3.7!!!!

The 350z is a better car than the Alfa 147GTA in almost every way mind, except it doesn't quite have the soul and theres more of them around (which could be good or bad). Its the one I'd have off that list if I wasn't bothered about space in the back.
