Fuel usage in new leon cupra

Hi all

Im so close to buying the New Leon Cupra (petrol), I currently have a Leon copra diesel (04).

What id like to know is how many miles do you get out of a tank from full to the warning light. Driven hard and soft.
In my Diesel cupra i get about 530 miles per tank (£50).

If anyone knows this please let me know.

Thanks

I got my cupra on Saturday but already used 2/3 of a tank!!

From my very limited experience I would say you will get around 260 driven hard to 300-310 driven softly softly on a mixture of roads with average traffic. The 1.9tdi is very good on fuel so you are spoilt to be honest.

PS

Buy one. They are awesome but get bluetooth. It is an essential toy.

Does everyone else see the same sort of results as P0LKR.

im still 'running in', and i'm averaging about 31mpg.

i believe this is well above the norm and will reduce in another week or so.

You could get an FR 170 TDI. Quicker than your cupra diesel and still has enough fuel economy to make it viable ;)

Bristolman..

If you are doing 360 miles a week excluding leisure mileage I would probably get the FR tdi but even then you will still only get 400 miles per tank.

Just remember the cupra has 240bhp or more so 25-30mpg is pretty good if you ask me!!

I only do 100 miles per week to work and back + my leisure mileage

I agree with POLKR and Chris. I've had mine for 15 days now and round town I'm probably getting about 25 mpg, but went from Leeds to Birmingham a few days after I got it and averaged about 32 - 33 mpg. Mine has done about 800 miles now.

On a full tank the computer says 320 miles, but have I been warned not to trust this. My mate has the old Octavia VRS and actually ran out of petrol with 30 miles still showing on the display.

But as POLKR says for a 240 PS car this is pretty good going, I had a 140 bhp Celica before and was only getting about 35 mpg out of that...

Did you runs yours in phil? Ican't resist temptation and have been ragging it at times after its warmed up!!

So so, trying not to kick the turbo in until the engine is warm and in the book somewhere its says not to exceed 75% of the top speed (about 115 mph) so stuck to that :)

Apart from that I have ragging it now and again I suppose...

me too! luckily i only travel 10 miles to work each way, and have only a couple of miles worth of 'raggable road' once its warm.
i'm looking forward to a few days off so i can lower my average!!

I think or I hope its ok to give it some as long as the temp is up to normal or else my £20k car is shafted. I'm sure it will be ok. I used to have Mk1 Leon cupra and I did the same. It was fine for the 3 yrs I had it and so my dealer says who knows the guy who bought it, it is still in fine form.

wow insurance is really good for you, im 36 in Bristol full no claims, so thats a good thing, anything on insurance like new alarm or garaged overnight, low mileage a year.

My insurance is a nightmare :-(

If I put the Mrs on it is knocking on for £1000 a year with the quotes I've had. Thankfully only paying £100 extra for 6 months to change my Celica policy. Need to really shop round come renewal time.

I'm 32 with full NCB, live in a nice area but from an insurance point of view it is high risk...
