Hi guys,

Just getting my bits together for a fuse relocation.............I have brought a 20A maximum rating fuse holder.

Will this be ok as the fuse in the car is a 10A/15A depending on what installed?

I'm sure that it is just a max. and a smaller fuse is ok, just wanted to check.

Also SEAT dealer could not get me a metaldisc insert (as per pabs guide).....and ideas where might be a good place to get one? VW dealer?

Cheers all

Lee

20A in line holder will be fine.

Why can't the delaer get you the metaldisc?. The code is just metaldisc.

Do you have the delock kit by any chance?
See my sig for a painted cap :)

The dealer did a check on 'metal disc' and came up with nothing

I've already got the cap mate (cheers though), got it free from the dealer (painted) plus some other bits and bobs cos thay had been really messing me about with bodged warranty repairs.

No probs, not sure about the code. Maybe ask one of the dealers on the forum to confirm if it's still available or shows on the system?.

The reason your dealer can't find metal disc, is because he inputting it as 2 words, the code is "metaldisc" as one word, my local vw dealer did the same at first till I pointed it out.

Cheers guys,

I'll try again at the dealer, if I have no luck I will contact the ebay seller.

Thanks again

No need to relocate. I told it all before :) :

Simply by removing the lightswitch assembly you have access to the rear of the fusebox.
(and thus to the cables)
So that way you can always reach it when there's a problem, and have to enter through
the boot.

Another easy solution is to remove the speaker cover from the door card.
You will then be able to reach the cables and feed them 12V directly, to open the door
( you may have to destroy the speaker however on some models to get behind it )

Relocation of the fuse even brings the extra risk of it easily falling out of
the fuseholder, when not fitted correctly. Or when crimped, instead of decent soldering.

I've seen people drill holes everywhere... Fuses hanging under the dash, in the small
pocket under the steeringwheel, etc...

But if you really want to relocate it, then just lead it to the back of the lightswitch.
