Yeah of course. I have no idea what you mean, but he definitely is one

Back to the predictions.... I met JP today at the Air Ambulance event at Thruxton and he was in good spirits and said he felt he'd done alright on Sunday "for an old un!" ;)

If he can secure the Drivers Championship why wouldn't he want to defend it with SEAT. He obviously works his nuts off for the brand and seems content enough. Just can't see an obvious transfer move that would ensure he was afront runner IMHO .

Like all drivers they work their nuts off, because their paid to. ;) It's in his contract. But I agree, he does appear to genuinely enjoy working with SEAT. But its because they are all genuinely great people to work with. :)

My fears were that Plato wouldn't re-sign too...I hope he does tho! I'm pretty happy with the team line up - Darren's a great driver too...just seems to have very bad luck!

Be interesting to see them run the TDi's...as long as it works for us...unlike the BMW :)

plato has had alot to do with where seat are now in btcc.from mentoring in the SCC through to the first BTCC,he's been there from day one.i think the result of the drivers championship will be the biggest factor for whether he says or goes.

tim, a chod is another name for a penis. ;)

i prefer the term '**** Knocker' when refering to someone in this respect....

:)

I'm good friends with the Mat Jackson camp and he will be racing his BMW in the WTCC race back at Brands on the 23rd September.

I also gave Mat 10 pound for nearly killing Matt ''Goon'' Neal. Always a next time......

How was Mat deducted grid placing for race 3 for a racing accident. He got a flyer and lost it. Surely Gio's move on Jordan at turn 1 was premeditated to cause a crash unlike Mat who certainly didn't intend to cause one.

I think Mat Jackson would be a great driver for the Seat team next year, he has the aggresion to win unlike Turner. Jones would be a good alternative though last race at Brands he was awesome.

Plato needs to produce something special to win the championship unless Gio has some real bad luck but i think thats just wishfull thinking.

is it just me or does the rest of the forum think chilton is a chod jockey?

Chilton is a complete knob, but he is so dangerous to Seat, he would rather knock JP or DT off than gain places himself, he could certainly have a huge impact on the Championship. JP & DT need to keep away from him.

To be fair to JP, he is already producing something special. He put a car with full +45kilo ballast on the 2nd row on Saturday. Avoided probably the largest collision of cars in a BTCC race in recent time and finished race 1 on the podium to keep Gio in check.

Then got knocked off the track in race 2 by Chilton which forced him back to 13th place. Yet amazingly still managed to fight back with a ballasted car to finish 2nd again right behind Gio.

All i'll say is keep doing what your doing JP.

Knockhill has to be the turning point either way.

Mat wont be joining Seat next year. He will probably have another year in his beemer then he wants to cross into WTCC. Jackson Motorsport run a good family outfit and i cant see him giving all that up unless his dad, etc have a say in running the team which at Seat, they wont

couldnt have said it better myself Z!

awesome drive by JP on Sunday...bet Gio thought he had it in the bag this weekend...but Plato behind him EVERY race was great!

Nothing stopping Jackson motorsport running with another driver though. If Mat got the opportunity of a PAID works drive, im sure it would be a consideration.

Sometimes you must speculate to accumulate as they say. They have gambled a lot of money on this year's BTCC. Im sure one of Mat's ambitions is a work's drive someday.

It was skin of his teeth for sure. Gio may not admit it, but the pressure is mounting, his outrageous move on Mike Jordan illustrated how desperate he is to catch up with Jason. A move he was later penalised for with a fine.

We've seen a new Plato this year, he's mellowed a bit, seems more sure of his ability. Hasn't got into silly scraps, and just tried to stay consistent. Hopefully it will pay dividends in the end.

At the end of the day, the best man will win. But i think that Gio has a more fiery temperament than people assume he has, and the pressure is building. ;)

in regards to the tdo possibility, i was under the impression the one entered into the wtcc performed pretty well until it had problems

.......That hits the nail on the head, and squares with what I said earlier. JP IS relaxed both on track, and off it, so far as I could tell yesterday, and yet being totally professional in both settings.

I think he's really in the zone this year, and will give us something to cheer on 14th October :flag: :)

TDI performed very well, both Gené and Muller complimented the car.

But it requires a bit more track setup development, they ran the car with a best guess setup in Sweden. A track they haven't visited before and it didn't do badly.

Going to Oschersleben this weekend, it might be a different matter. SEAT are the only team to break BMW’s five year winning streak at Oschersleben. It's a circuit SEAT know very well, so they will have good setup data to try out. They will be hoping to for some podiums for sure.

sounds promising for the future then, both wtcc and possible btcc entry in the future
