Or does it give too much torque steer, like the FOCUS RS and spoil the handling? :drive2:
(apologies to F. RS owners)
I have a LCR, and after a race with subaru WRX, couldnt believe how much my tyres sqealed in the bends compared to the subaru. (I had windows down and all I could hear was tyre sqeal) lol. Either that or im a cr1p driver!!
I understand that my LCR has around 250 bhp (stage 1 remap) through the front wheels, and the subaru is a rally car breed, etc etc, was just wondering if LSD made a huge difference??
Or would the Rear arms be a better mod?

Sorry if this subject has come up before!!

im looking to get a quaife lsd for my ibiza , heard they are meant to be quite good , at least it stops most of the wheel spin , i think they are definately worth the money , i am also getting toyo 888 s , as they are grippy as fook

Good luck getting cheap R888's!!
I always laugh at R888s cos they just dont look like road tyres, and cannot be healthy at all in the wet!!! A caterham (I think the fireblade engined one) pulled alongside me with R888s and they look faaaaaaaaaantastic!
R888s are great if you can afford them and its sunny!!

Good luck with them!!
I got Falken FK452s there the other day from Camskill (260 for four, and incluing 7 pound postage to N. Irl for four tyres which was v reasonable) as I am on a budget this month! Highly recommend Camskill, v professional!

The Falkens were impressive straight out of the box, but not as good as my outgoing pzeros.

RobDon, among others, should be able to shed some more light on this.

His Quaife seems to make a difference on his ability to put down 300 bhp through the front wheels. Couldn't see that torque steer was a problem when he drove it.

I mean, torque steer can't be worse than it is without a Quaife?

I mean, I've 210 bhp and I'm all over the lane. (I've the usual suspects: Powerflex, upper and lower strutbraces, Koni springs/dampers, respectable tires, heavy foot.)

The Falkens are a bit squealy on the limit but there's not a noticeable loss of grip, they're just a bit noisy.

One of the guys i know, runs a Peloquin diff in his LCR.
He says its night and day, still drives well but puts the power down well and thats with GDS3's.

I've had the Quaife ATB diff for quite a while now, have used it aggressively on the road and on trackdays ... and the grip is awesome, far more than a stock diff. Spending money on more grip in a FWD car makes alot more sense than adding huge amounts of power. Torque steer with around 290bhp is almost non-existent in my car. I paid £525 for the diff directly from Quaife, around £800 fitted.

Thats a good price Rob!
Well worth the money, no point having tones of power if you can't get it down or use it!
Whats it like just normal driving Rob, not had a chance to drive my mates yet!

Where did you guys get them from then??? Ive had a quick look but not had much joy. I think this is going to be the next mod for me!!!!

cheers

Hi
We have some Quaife Diffs in stock
The main problem is getting hold of the fitting kits , as these are on backorder from VAG
But we have been getting them from Quaife themself
I know that a few people with them fitted have raved about them , so we have sold a few of them and the reports have been good
The Quaife and the Peloquin are the same
The only difference is that the Peloquin comes with the fitting kits
But shipping at the moment with Peloquin has gone up and that can end up costing a fair bit :(

Just got my LCR back today after having a Peloquin diff fitted by JKM.

Can only see an improvement having been out for a quick blast. Torque steer is reduced (can't see how it could be any other way?) and MUCH less wheel spin. Even in a straight line i'd say its better, wheelspin in 2nd is all but eliminated and even first gear seems usable now.:D

I imported the diff myself from the US from a guy called Peter at thescirocco.com. Cost me about £470 including shipping and new bearings and stronger bolt kit, but then had to pay £40 import duty. Fitting was about £500 including new oil, seals and shims.
