Can you not get standard Brembo 280mm brakes for a mk3 ibiza which would fit the 1.8gti calipers from GSF. Or am I wrong?

you're not right, but not wrong....

if you can get 280mm carriers you can fit your callipers to it, along with 280mm brakes
