Diagnosis Light :(

I just got my car on Friday and was driving to work this morning and noticed a light on my dash.... when i got here i checked and found out it was the diagnosis light... garage going to have a look at it tonight... just so mad that i've not even had it a week and somethings gone wrong!!

Any ideas what would cause this? I don't get why it would just randomly come on after me driving it for a few days and it was all good. The car drove exactly the same didn't feel like anything was wrong apart from the stupid light....praying when i get back to my car tonight the light has gone and i never see it again!!

The way I see it, the car has not gone into limp mode as, like you say, it still drives the same. So its nothing that could damage the car imiediately.

However, it is telling you something is wrong. Its impossible to guess what really as this could mean anything.

Only time and the garage will tell.

Sorry to hear, it must be a worry as you have just bought it... Keep the faith though!!!

lol i'm mad. they will end up having to send it to the seat garage which means i won't get it back for a few days...this does my head in...i really shouldn't have bought a seat from a ford garage...

i hope it's nothing that i have done that's made it come on...paranoid as i am i thought it might have been because of how cold it was this morning and the fact that i had the heaters on full blast...so i turned them down just to see lol.

Another thing actually....the heaters are kack!!

Gutted, want it to just go away and be all better again so i can keep spinning about but the garage soooo slow!

Is it not under warrantee?? Ford should foot the bill of so.

It was -2 degrees here this morning... My engine took a while to warm up and get me thawed too!!

It might have been the temp thats got to a sensor or something??? Let us know and good luck!!

Yeah it's under warrenty so suppose i'm lucky it's happening now rather than when it's up but just don't want problems lol.

So just hopefully hopefully it was the temperature

My heater at the right you can feel it actually blowing like can feel it blowing my hair but the one at the left of me just doesn't seem to have that whole blowingness...it just seems to be a little warm...strange!!

I wish i had taken a photo of my car in the space i reverse parked into this morning....clearly impressed!! Although i'm really not very good at hill starts in a petrol car so nearly clanked the car behind lol think i was about an inch away...very lucky

Yeah, strange that.... the vent its blocked or the fan isn't so fast on the middle ones???

So you didn't need a taxi to the kerb this morning then?? I usually do when I park... So scared of scratching the wheels, I end up parking in the middle of the road!!!!!

I don't know what came over me...saw a wee space inbetween two cars and i just seemed to flow into it...shame it was on a hill though because it make it harder lol. It took alot of brain power though..had to turn the stereo down and everything!... if i turn the wheel that way technically i could get round that way... there was this crappy wee old metro thing behind me... was seriously seriously close.... don't think il be doing that again anytime soon! Although it was nice to look at afterwards.

I've not brought myself to buy alloys yet... i know il kerb them to bits.... seen some stunning ones i want though AEZ Wave...but too many pennies when il just ruin them lol.

I have no idea...i was fiddling about with it this morning and realised that the wee bit in the middle of the vent turns round....i assume thats to turn them off or something lol but it didn't make any difference to the middle ones!

I'm glad to see I am not the only one that parks away from curbs

I have only had my car since Saturday, this morning it was -4, so my car beeped at me and flashed the temperature..

Hate that, always worry when you hear a beep that you haven't heard before... hope you get your light sorted sweetlittle, then enjoy!

The beeps scare the crap out of me too.... Especially the fuel windscreen washer one when you aren't expecting it!!

I am paranoid about wrecking the wheels, it would be such a shame as they are perfect at the mo!

my car hasn't beeped yet..... i don't think it's a beeping car...

I'm so glad no one was on the street because my heart was actually going about a million miles an hour thinking i was going to hit this other car
If both cars are still there when i go back... I will take a photo

My boyfriend just gave me a sub for my car so really will have to turn music down when doing tricky manoevers now

Yep complete nightmare when you scuff a wheel.. even worse is when some opens there car door and dinks your door. Makes me very angry! So I try and park where no-one else is!

Ah seems I have other warning beeps and lights to look out for, when I picked it up Saturday it beeped at me on my first right hand turn.. but I think this was to do with the traction control as coming form a 1.4 polo to a Ibiza Cupra I floored it a tiny bit by mistake... (and scared myself in the process he he!)

just a coment about the vents.

they do take a while to heat up as your engine does, but once you have been driving around for a while and all the vents dont work as they should you may have a problem.

when i had work done on mine for the air con, the vents went all screwy after, i couldnt get them to switch on whichever button i pressed.

if you have climate control with the electronic buttons they control motors that block and unblock the vents. this may need to be re-set in order to put them inline again.

I think it beeps when you have 25 miles of fuel left, you are running out of washer fluid, engine water and if you have left the hand brake..... It sounds like a techno tune when you start up and they are all low!!

I do the same with parking, my girlfriend does seems to be really careful.... She loves the extra power after a 1.2 KA!!!

Its supposed to drift to the left a little if you let go. That stops you going into the oncomming traffic when you fall asleep..... Very presumptuous these car designers aye??!!

ahahaha :L nah i mean like if i go in the middle of the road and let go and accelerate it really does go onto the verge lol... i can understand it doing it a wee bit...but it's actually quite a lot. Can't believe they thought of that though!!!
Thankfully i don't plan on falling asleep though
Got an hour to go and il be back at my baby seeing if the lights on hehe.
I think i have less power with my new car but meh.... love it

I have never fallen asleep at the wheel. Can't understand people that do, i have never been that tired.... (Probably cos I am lazy at the best of times!!)

well they have ordered two new sensors and are going to fit them...something to do with the sensors by the cat so god knows... they fitting them today so heres hoping!! Emmissions and that are all fine though so tad strange...they have another cat sitting there as well just in case lol.

So back to driving the merc again for a while hehe

....had the joys of hearing the beeps..... the handbreak one by accident the other day and then the fuel light yesterday...seriously kacked myself!!
