lol I was waiting for you to say something about IP Phil...as usual.

You've never had a map from Mike I assume?

I'm going on the rollers tmrw, I'll post up my graph.

another option for you might be impossible performance in rochester, which isn't too far from you mate.

I've always had map from there and I really rate them, not many peeps on here use them, but briskoda boys love his maps...really nice and smooth. I made 206bhp and 230 ft/lts at power engineering earlier this year with exhaust and filter.

Mike would do you a good price too if you gave him a ring. Plus the map is custom and he only charges £50 to adjust the map if you add more mods (he fitted my k03s and remaped it for £200..bargain!)

you mentioned upsolute map which phil said wasnt to great - soo what maps do they provide now?

is it simular to what p-torque can do with the making it aggressive/mild but holds through the rev range -

and is it worth me doing my TIP and CAI before getting it mapped aswell?

cheers

There's nothing wrong with the upsolute chip (i think phil was probably refering to a big turbo install he saw). It's not too aggrevise on the boost. iirc I only used to boost 12psi with upsolute but still made 201 bhp and 212 ft/lbs with just a piperx filter.

I'm not sure what software they use now, but they deff offer customs maps. mike's a good bloke you should give him a call and ask on 01634 710777

if you want a customised map then the more mods you have the better :)

Yeah its the work on my mates golf that was shocking. Non stop problems, turbo on the bulkhead causin engine to twist snappin drive shafts and splitting a box casing amoungst other things.

Havin said that, probably coz he waxed so much cash there, mike has always been helpful on the phone with him when his car was broke. And that was quite often.

just been discussing this with will @ p-torque and to have the new chip put on, then remapped, and RR will be about the same sort of price as Revo - although get the added benefit of stating how I want the map to be like -

will speak with mike(thanks JIMYU) and see what he offers in the way of custom map -

thanks for your input fellas!!!

just to bring this up again -

i want to know if my maf is buggered(reading low values)

apart from disconnecting my maf - i want to check on vag com measuring blocks -

so if i check - act v req - maf -

what maf figures should i be seeing for the BHP figures i got -
or
act v req figures compared to the maf figures -

cheers

I think with the high figures it was cos the place I used estimated your flywheel where as the last time i got rr'd they gave you the flywheel figure not estimate it.

All rolling roads (chassis dynamometers) estimate flywheel horsepower... the only way you can get actual flywheel HP is to take the engine out and take the reading from the crank! So your statement is wrong... some Rolling roads for some reason only give you a flywheel HP reading which they calculate, however they actually take the reading at your wheels and work back in this case.

It's very clever the way they work out your transmission losses from your wheel HP and it's not just a standard % as some people think. On the run down the roller is spinning freely (not driven by your car anymore) and from that the computer can work out as the engine revs down how much the transmission is slowing the roller down by (ie how much power the transmission is consuming from the roller) (or so I was told by a man very clued up on these things... he worked for Froude Hoffman)
