hi all, had a resonable saturday today working on the car. done all those little bits that needed doing.

Number 1 - Changed all headlight bulbs for blue/white ones. looks good

Number 2 - Fixed side skirt as the rivet had pulled through.

Number 3 - Replaced interior light. Strange looking bulb

Number 4 - Changed speedo bulbs for nice blue ones....Took out the amber strip which makes all the difference too! ;)

Number 5 - Unseized the track rods as they were both seized solid! warmed them up with a blow torch and sprayed on some eco rust off! good stuff that ;)

Number 6 - Tried to sort out the dampness problem with the dizzy and plug leads! :wtf:

Next Thing is replacement k&n filter, and spark plugs. whats the best spark plugs for an ABF engine?

Ive been thinking of doing this in my 1.4. Is the amber strip easy to take out??

How did you change the colour of the digital bits or do they get light from the bulbs at the top?

Will the led'model number be the same for the 1.4 or will it be different?

the amber bit is piss, once you get the speedo out u can just see the edge of the amber strip. prise the clips open of the white plastic surround and lift it out. makes it so much brighter.

the digital screens are lit by the same type leds. i changed 4 in total. the top two are the dials the bottom middle two are the screen ones.

i think they will be the same leds. universal 509t

Cheers made. Im needing a new normal bulb for the one above the clock, i think i will just get 4 led's and just change them all.

it would be easier but we done it whilst it was in there, just unpluged the speedo cable and twisted the unit around
