Yea, the idea is you bolt the charger inline with the rest of the anciliaries, and then just get a belt to suit. You can buy belts of all sizes, all you need is a little adjustment to tighten it

let me know if you need anything odd i could probably source it or a choice

i supply omex a load of parts for very similar projects

just an update people, the charger will be mounted this sunday, aswell as the intercooler, and a couple of other bits that need doing, we'll then measure up the hoses needed

ibiza_95 is taking care of the outlet adaptor

before the end of the month :D

how have you managed to connect it all up, did you change the inlet and outlet on the supercharger or did you have to fabricate and adaptor.

Also another thing i forgot to mention, makesure that you put a lightened crank pulley on, keep it the same size but reduce the weight, makes a huge difference to boost feel.

Also, (sorry i read this with interest as i drive a highly modded S/C mini) are you using the bypass valve from the Mini, if so you need to makesure you optimize it etc as thuis can seriously effect how boost is delivered, a knackered one can seriously hinder BHP.

Be really interested to see what you get out of a 1.8, as even on the 1.6 i will be getting roughly 265bhp as of end of the month

I also sell OMEX, BUT I was a little dissapointed when I spoke with them and they dont feature wideband lambda onlybill narrow band.. Surprised at that omissions personally.
DTA for me... still as a preference, but OMEX is good gear and very well priced.

there'll be loads of pics for everyone to see

nando is using his own boost return valve (£50)

ANTFR - for the charger inlet i'm going to be stretching some 73mm silicon tubing over the inlet and jubilee clipping it. Ibiza_95 is making the outlet adaptor plate, with a 63mm tube with a flange on it to stop the pipe slipping off.

got to order a couple of bits now

cant wait though

havent thougth about the crank pulley, but i'm sure that can be changed at another date, need a new upgraded clutch and lightened flywheel, as that'll help the engine rev up better and therefore boost quicker

Well Chris, our student loan came through 2 days ago so SPEND SPEND SPEND boy

p.s. the dub-london stickers arrived today and now are on the polo. Absolute nightmare to stick on tho because of the cold. Everytime I anywhere near as looked at the window, it fogged up and then the stickers wouldn't stick to it. Took me like 30mins to put them bas***ds on, lol

instead of jubilee clipping it, get 2 of the clamps from BMW that are used on the Mini, They are a perfect oval shape to match the standard supercharger size so less chance of leak.

Depending on the pulley size ( i would say go for -17% anymore and you'll get belt slip big time) the max boost you will run will be 18Psi peak and hold 15psi. but any air leaks and you will notice it. the supercharged cars seem to hate any hint of boost leak.

aaaah i didnt know bmw did the clamps that go over the inlet of the charger, do they do and inlet piece for it aswell then? stretching hose over the end is a bit ghetto

i was under the impression it wasnt standard as rarely used but could be added ?

Andy I spoke to was quite dismissive about the merits of lambda at all, let alone wideband...
Has he not done any turbo cars?

Was very surprised.
