Hi All I have seen loads of threads for HID conversion kits, but I am not sure on 2 thinks:

1. What bulbs do I need so that they will fit my car?? H7???

What are these 6000k, 9000k???

What has everyone got??

Cheers

Alex

There pretty blue from what ive seen mate. The 8000k are more towards purple than blue.

And side lights they've been using leds but would have to be white ones as blue isnt legal of course

What are the ones that are really white like on the mercs??, that you can see on the motorway from miles away??

Cheers

So are they all the same brightness or the whiter you go the brighter they are??

Are you able to get high and low beam for our cars??

Cheers

Alex

the whiter or 'lower' the number the better in principle as it is allowing a fuller of spectrum of colour and hence full brightness

the higher numbers lose the white hence being more blue /purple etc but are in fact dimmer to a degree

sounds like you need a H4 kit - ibiza 1.4 ye ?

theres 2 kits usually too choose from

bi-xenon which is HID for both low and high beam filaments and is usually more expensive as its effectively 2 kits

low hid/halogen high which is a dual filament but only the low beam is hid cheaper too

depends how often you really use high beam in all honestly

Yes its a 1.4 so I need H4.

I live in the country so use high beem all the time at night.

So do I need 'bi-xenon' then if I want both high beam and low beam??

ye if you want the top dog then both elements HID or bi-xenon as sometimes described just double check the small print to make sure before you buy as they can be dearer the double ones

you'll see descriptions like this to avoid :

Single low beam kit. This Kit comes with 2 ballasts, 2 HID light bulbs, wiring harness, screws, and other necessary hardware needed for installation. Easy installation with instruction manual

a TVR 4.0 with 2 of em should be fun too ;)

been offered a 540 ali big block ford complete but i think nearly 20k is a bit steep for one of my scrap rods
