confused with faults

if i drive with split-r on it come up with pressure drop between turbo and throttle valve check D.V

but if i put the standard bosch one on it cancles that faul and gives me 17608 n249 machanicle malfunction.

swap it back and get pressure drop again which somtimes puts it into limp mode but manly runs normal in both

from what ive read thay both can mean leaks but ive checked all the pipes and there nothing but will try washing up liquid tomorrow

any other tips or advice. or any idea of it being any thing else

where abouts do u live u could try swapping with sum 1 that knows theres works. If that dont work check all the pipes with it running see if it moves a split pipe

i live up in the hills at the end of the abiss (Buxton) im gona try some washing up liquid tommorrow but is there anything else it could be or has anyone got any pics of the n249 valve

If its a vacum pipe thats split wouldnt it suck air into the pipe from outside, Therefore if i'm right and you put washing up liquid on it the split will suck the liquid into the engine NOT good

whats this (Secondary Air)

WTF? why so many thread deletes?, you have like 4 of them in this section alone.

because im thick and couldnt get the picture to up load from my documents had to make a picture acount with aol is there any other way and do you know what it is

My car in the pic. :D

It's the valve where the secondary air connects to the head.

yes it your car my cameras ****ed did a search and found your car what does it mean if theres any oil all over the under side of it as im getting vag codes of N249 valve malfunction and everyone is saying leak put ive checked all the pipes and tyed washing liquid to make some bubbles but nothig

You need to work out where the oil is actually coming from.

(My guess would be the breather system to the TIP nearby  )

I can't see that being responsible for N249 codes......

thats my problem im thick with cars and carnt aford garage bills the car seems to be running fine but with standard D.V on i get n249 faults witch i could do with checking but i dont know what it looks like

and if i put forge splitr on i get pressure drop between turbo and throttle valve

but each one wipes each other

so im grabbing at loose ends and just looking for things out of place and this is one of them and a bit lower down than that ive got all white stuff looks like a coolent leak

whats the breather system to the TIP nearby look like as ive checked the pipe but its hard to get in to this area without moving any thing

Follow the squashy rubber pipe that comes out of the top/side of the rocker cover and goes back to a mushroom shaped valve on the tip near your dv.

249 fault - see if you can borrow a std recirc valve from someone to see if that throws up faults.
