Head Unit Fitment

Ok so i fitted my spanking new head unit, well chuffed, and was then met with this!

(The small gap Below the HU!)

Anyone any idea what i can do about it?????

you can get a cd holder out of a Fabia that apparently fits, with regards to the small gap under the HU not too sure, the cd holder may fill that!

I have almost the same HU and had the same problem

fit the HU in the bottom slot, turn the storage box upside down and fit that in the top slot and it cures the problem and lets you use the cup holder whilst the tunes are playing


got my ipod connected to mine and it's wicked

i got the same head unit, fantastic they are..

yeah but i tried this, when i turned my upside down it wouldnt fit in the top slot at all because of the grooves..

I know loads of people on ere have put the storage box in the top slot even with the standard HU

it does fit so maybe you should give it another go mate

I seem to remember you need to fit the storage box in the top slot upside down first then fit the head unit, that way it should work

The gap you see is because of the dashboard design being slightly concave and the hu sits flat.

The std Alana head unit comes out, the dash is not one big unit. You'll need to get hold of radio removal keys though...

as you can see from my pics if you fit the storage box in the top slot upside down there will be a gap but it will be the other way up and not visible unless you are upside down too

on my old 05 sport i had the headunit at the bottom and the cubby tray at the top, went to do this on my FR and as said above it is slightly different in some way and does not fit!

my alpine one is in the bottom for the same reasons, maybe they changed the design on differnt years or something? Want a newer ipod connector one like you guys as mine was the first alpine apple one they bought out and is v fiddly to flick through the menus!

Mine is in the bottom too because I've put my boost gauge in the top bit
