hi all, just gone from split r to 007 valve and gotta say amazing difference!!!
wanted to fit the 007 the way it should be fitted, just wondering does anybody know what way around the standard diverter valve was positioned on the cupra r's???
was the vaccum pipe on the top or on the side while the valve was on? just want to make sure i have my 007 on the right way

cheers

Forg say it doesn't matter. I f you put the pressurised pipe in the side (the way the original is) it is quiet, and requires the vacuum to open the valve. Forge say on their website that it is perfectly ok to use the DV the other way so the pressure pipe is on the bottom of the valve. This gives a nice little chirp when it opens, and also allows the valve to open the fraction quicker. Aside from this, when fitted this way the valve is lower down so doesn't push the corner of the engine cover up.

i've reversed mine and it has made a difference in noise (i like it) but others don't seem to like the chirping. i've got a BMC carbon airbox which makes it a little noisier too.

I've been running reversed for a while and with my level of boost and my tip, it sounds good.

It makes sense to me that the boost pushes against the bottom of the piston and spring, allowing boost to help open the valve when you have vac. Normally, the boost is pushing against the side of the piston....

it does sound good, i have the forge TIP, ECS N75, custom code stage 1 map and the N249 has been bypassed. if i back off the throttle sharply then it is quite loud, it does make people look! ;)

I fitted mine the samy way I had my split R. Kinda laying down so when it opens the return goes back infront of the turbo. The 007P with blue spring is lightyears ahead of split R btw !!!

cheers will fit it now.... do i have to do anything else or will ecu addapt to it? also will green spring be ok on a remapped lcr... thanks

I tried yellow spring wich is little stiffer than green one and found the yellow doesnt hold boost. Blue one was fine. For me that is. Perhaps yours is fine.

don't have boost gauge yet. Its on my list after strut an arb's. What should it hold at or is it different on each car. Cheers guys

Depends on ure remap. Mine is BSR and peaks @ 23psi drops to 20 ish psi and then slowly to about 14psi @ redline.

With the yellow spring the psi peak and drop was a little erratic but with the blue one it was smooth sailing.
