Think my factory stereo needs a code?

I had a flat battery and jump started me car and now the stereo says, "safe" and "2000" and i cant turn it on. I take suppose it has locked itself? How do i get it workin again? I have no code for it.

mate im having the same problem..i relocated my battery, and some plum put the wrong code in. now, i was lead to believe that you wait an hour then try again...i have waited 2 hours, unplugged battery and started again, the lot!....can i get it to come off SAFE?..can i fcuk

Could have sworn the instructions were in the main manual. I no longer have an Aura stereo so don't have it.

If the stereo says 'SAFE' then you need the unlock code for it thats all.

Oh if anyone has a factory fitted CD player (in dash) for sale let me know as I want to replace the Aura unit as dont use tape.

Try this for codes, says it does the Aura, i'd try it on mine to see if it gives my code, but mines still in the car (still knackered waiting refund).

I had this problem in my Passat and went to the VW Dealers and they got the code for me. I also pointed out to them that the handbook said that this was a free service and the service guy said that it is. Would think this is possibly same for SEAT.
My Aura head unit had pretty much given up the ghost when I picked the car up so I replaced it with a Sony X-plode HU I had which has now partially given up the ghost to, so I have bought one of the new X-plode HU's with bluetooth well cool bit of kit.

you need to code,
then press buttons 1-4 the number of times needed to enter the code.
then press pty button or something like that to enter.

If you have put the wrong code in be prepared to wait 24-48 hours to try again.

They may need to fax off to Seat HQ to get you a code so just try ringing them, they might just need a serial no.

this seems to work on some, others not.

Mine took best part of two days...

i have the code....its just the process of waiting an hour, which i have done. then you hit PTY apparantly till CODE or SAFE start flashing....the problem i have is the PTY button dont make the flashing symbol
