i read last week that the 350z is one of the cars NOT to buy due to depreciation, running (ruining!!) costs, tax etc

I saw that also, it was in Auto Express. While it's true that the Nissan 350Z has more money to loose, the PCP quote I have here for the car doe slook favourably on it. they have put their neck out a bit, and the 3 year value at £13,850 (With 45K on the clock @ 3 years). Your thinking, "but wait, thats over 55% depreciation!".i read last week that the 350z is one of the cars NOT to buy due to depreciation, running (ruining!!) costs, tax etc
Yeah, the Nissan is slower - thats immediatly obvious as soon as you put your foot down in it. Leon shoots off leaps and bounds, where as the Z just makes a sweet noise and will be happy just to follow from behind. It's worth noting that, in a traffic light duel, the Leon is only just faster.By the way, the Nissan will be taking a bigger 2nd hand hit than the Cupra, and you will find that with your Cupra being tuned, it will be faster than the 350Z too.
Apart from the road tax and mpg issue, things will come back I reckon. Our md is running around buying RX8's, 350Z's, Hyundai Coupes, Landcruisers etc etc They are soooooo cheap as no-one else wants them. Brave or stupid, time will tell - plus, he has just taken delivery of a new Ferrari ordered 2 years ago lol I honestly think people are panicking and certain bargains can be had, just hard to judge for sure . . . . . . . . I'd buy a Cupra tomorrow for £9k!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My 08 FR TDI will still fetch £14k bottom book!!!!!!!!!!
Your MD is doing very well - esp buyng all those types of cars. Does he want a Cupra?Apart from the road tax and mpg issue, things will come back I reckon. I think it depends on the PCP you have. IANACarSalesman, but if it has a 'guaranteed' MFV, then if its actual value is less, I think you can just drive it to the dealers at the end of the term and hand the keys over with nothing more to pay. Going back a few years, I had such a scheme through a dealer on a Corsa. At the end of three years, the trade-in prices I was being offered were less than the Guaranteed MFV, so I did just that.On another note, is the Leon's guarenteed future value worth the paper it's printed on when she's 3 years old? At this rate, it will sail way past it by 18 months!
Cost to change is the real figure to look at tbh , I have just lost £5,500 on my FR, but the car I bought has shed 11k , in under a year ! Swings & roundabouts , don`t look at what you are losing as it`s all just figures at the end of the day, the spondoolies you hand over is the important bit ..
