While having a look through the Info Base I found this guide to fitting a fuel cooler.

I was wondering if anyone has tried this on the Mk4 Ibiza? and if they have seen any gains....

I thought they already had them! is that not the thing that sits under the drivers floor, that goes "whhoooosh" when u turn the ignition on. or am i wrong.

I was wondering if that was what it was.

I wonder if further cooling would help?

Dont bother, fit an extra intercooler or a bigger one instead.

Unless your car is for track day use only or you have had the diesel return valve altered to raise the fuel pressure i don`t think you would need or notice any difference with a pre engine fuel cooler.

Now .. when I saw the size of the cooler under the car ... I thought wow... that is a whole bunch of heat to lose.. must spend 2-3 hp compressing the fuel that otherwise could go to the wheels. This is one of the failing of PD unit injectors (the other is the response time from idle so they like to stall). Found those out the first time I went tuning these ;-) Not sure it will drive me to Common Rail next time.. but certainly made me think..
