they should be fine as they as they are screwed in place to prevent movement/interference

yup when you press the cd button it goes to ipod mode, but if u switch it back to radio and then back to cd it goes to the cd changer, i think other combinations of buttons will make it switch over but thats the one i use.
A MK3 Cupra in a 52-Plate? Thats uncommon, must be a very very late one.
But yeah, same connection... it's the 8-Pin one.

I emailed Xcarlink to ask 2 questions I was unsure on and,
you can still select songs through the Ipod as normal while connected

If you get the normal one it wont work with the 3G i phone and Ipod touch 2G, but you can get a newer one which does work with the newest Ipods and also still works with the older ones, so might as well future proof yourself!

I got one for crimbo and i really cant fault it, its a good piece of kit, you can plug an iphone in but it wont charge the iphone it just plays the tracks so if your not too fussed about it charging then its all good

I seem to be having a problem with my X Car Link at the moment. It works when I first turn the engine on, but after 2 minutes driving it goes crackly and then switches to the radio. When I press the CD button it just comes up 'CHANGER'. I think I may have to take the HU off and check the earths.

could someone point me in the right direction in getting one off these, only seen the ones on bay for 80quid from china... is there another place.... cheaper..... only after the usb type,
