I didnt really have a problem with the front, the back though felt a bit unstable under hard braking, dont know why seat made the rear track different, there must have been a reason,i went for 15mm spacers each side and it sorted it,also made rear end look better.Didnt think two little spacers could make such a big difference to the handling, well worth the money.

me too jim, it really looks squat from the rear, especially if lowered...i wonder what 20mm spacers would be like as it would make the rear track bigger than the front...only thing is you would be in danger of kerbing the wheels big time:lol:

makes the car grip like a go kart round roundabouts also

I think people have had problems with the wheels coming in contact with the arch with 20mm spacer on the rear! (On the lcr)

my rear wheels don't have much clearance ~5mm to the arch from the outside tyre wall when i'm loaded up - 15mm spacers for me

i think 20mm would make it too close tbh!

I assume it's designed that way by the manufacturer?....for a reason?

I have just been reading up on this; so hopefully it will be correct ish! The fitting of rear spacers will increase rear end stability; increasing the tendancy to understeer, but also increasing stability under braking and mid corner "plant-ed-ness" (new word :)). I think the reason my spacers work well is that I have a 25mm rear ARB on the stiffest setting, and so the spacers help control this.

You guys ever tried any on the front just to even things up, see if the car is even better?

Not as yet; but after this thread I think I may well do, only 5mm or so as I imagine more might cause scrubbing?

Not being as versed in suspension geometry as you gys I stuck 10mm (Forge) spacers on the front and rear

Further to my above comment; how do 10mm spacers on the front make the wheels fit? Do they protrude from the arches at all?

I also had Neuspeed 25/28mm ARB's but having added a big ARB on the rear I wanted to minimise any additional understeer.

My solution was new wheels. I'm not trying to be argumentative in this thread, just establish what peoples thought process is/was because tightening up the rear end is mainly what we have talked about in this thread (and the LCR needs it) but reduction of understeer is also important.

In my scenario I had added a chunky front ARB, I was concerned about understeer (particularly in the wet) and I believe the extra 10mm or so on the front helped balance the car front / rear.

I'm no suspension expert so I just tried to mimic what Seat had given the OEM LCR.

Several people drove my car when it was done and most liked the more 'neutral' feel, bit of body roll, lift off oversteer and easily caught with a slight application of opposite lock. I'm not saying my solution was 'correct' and like you guys it was mainly trial and error.

I'd love to know what you feel about the car when you have the 5 or 10mm spacers on the front

Me neither; it is quite interesting to see what others have tried, giving different options to try in the future :) I will up date this thread if I get round to trying front spacers; but it won't be for a while as I'm living away from home and don't have any space to work on my car :(
