right,i,ve been searchin the forum.
it might be the light switch,so popped in to the garage to get it checked out.
checked it with VAG-COM,no joy there.
the light switch is stuffed tho(so gettin a new one) but it makes no dif when the plug is pulled from it.still gettin the dim light on the dash.
tryin the <remove earth from the bat>for 2 or 3 hours,see if that works.
i,ve also been told it might be a problem between the dash and the wire to the light switch.
so,is removein the dash a pain?

been checkin and usin the search thing (usin 3 or 4 diff topics and putting then all together) long story short>>>
it was the hose for the rear wash jet had come off (the one in the boot,left hand side)
and drenched the 3 wiring blocks that sort the rear lights etc out.

before this the rear wash jet was crap,only firing about 3 inchs up the window.
now it fires the water all the way to the top.

wasn't it you that was conplaining that the rear wash was poor back in Feb last year
