As the thread title really. Does anybody know what the tyre pressures should be on the 225/45/17s on a SE TDI? Probably pretty similar to the Cupra I suppose but I'm not sure if there's much of a weight difference between a Cupra and a TDI 110. Cheers, in anticipation ;)

erm does it not depend on if the tyres are the origional? best to ask at kwikfit or somethig mate. i agree tho if the tyres are the standard types then 33psi is absolutely correct. i've heard from MORE THAN ONE source that the pressures 'advertised' inside your fuel flap for example. are dependand on the tyres being the origional type.

is this 33psi front and back? Ive just fitted the same alloys to my pre-face lift cupra
thanks

Not AFAIK, as long as the sizing is original. Is that what they might be referring to? I can't see why pressures would need to be different from one tyre manufacturer to the next!?

Obviously in this case, the originals were 195s on 15 inchers, now they're 225/45/17.

Yeah, I'm assuming that some of you guys are saying that it's 33 front and rear for the latter on a 110 TDI. (Actually, it's remapped to 150BHP but as the pressure you've recommended is the same as the Cupra I can't see that's a problem ;) )

Thanks for your advice so far. The starfish alloys come in for a bit of abuse on here I notice but I think they look great on my motor! I'm well pleased.

The tyre pressure is dependant on tyres size and tyre weight.
But as above, these alloys come on the LC which is the same (ish) weight as the TDI so will be 33PSI.
The comment about Kwik Fit, I wouldn't ask them directions to Kwik Fit. Not exactly a fountain of knowledge like this forum is.

Thanks alot mate. I had visions of asking Kwik-Fit about tyre pressure and the reply being along the lines of 'you need four new shock absorbers'. 33 all round it is then. Cheers.

Hi. This is an old thread but hoping to get a reply.i recently bought some standard seat cupra starfish alloys. They have bridgestone potenza 225/45 17R tyres. Would the corect tyre pressure be 33psi All round?
