We'll have to see on the day then, 14.6 is my best time ever, my average is about 14.9. I have better tyres that I've had before and a couple of more tweaks (1st time with the ECS and improved filter). I'm a bit worried about my clutch though, it slipped a couple of times last time, @ almost 80,000 miles (most of which were remapped) driven hard, it can't last much longer!!

I'd be suprised if the FN2 gets into the 14's... They are heavy old buses (compared with the EP3) with no more power.. So you shouldn't need to worry about that one to much mate..

To clear up a few questions, here's the specs of the gudge match:

Leon Cupra (not R) - remapped to 211bhp - 4th time podder
Focus ST 2.5t - remapped to 270+ bhp - virgin podder but track experience
2008 Civic Type R - standard 198bhp - virgin podder

+ T25 Litchfield Scooby - est 400bhp - 3rd time podder (but we won't count that in the grudge match, you could pull off in 3rd and put in a 13!)

It's hard to say I guess. I mean then new CTR (UK Version - FD2 i think) is crap on handling compared to its predecessor (EP3 Model) but in a straight line who knows. Like you say, get your launch right and I think you could have it licked.

Assuming even drivers it should be ST, then the LC and the CTR close behind.

The LC makes more torque lower down then the CTR so it *should* be quicker off the line. Looking at the driver experience you posted I'd bet your Pod experience will give you a substantial edge over the CTR guy.

see when you launch cupras, where do you sit your revs at?iv tried 2.5k and it takes off really slowly.and iv been told that i should launch from 4k and control my right foot...but that entails a lot of wheelspin...what do you guys do??

Disaster! On the way back from Thorpe Park today my engine management light has come on. The only time it's ever done that was a MAF failure and coil packs. Its running fine, very strong acceleration still, boosting correctly, dumping correctly. Temperatures are fine and idle revs are spot on.

I'm hoping its nothing serious, maybe a coil pack on its way out (I have spares). I'll hook it up to vagcom tomorrow and see what's what.

I don't want to appear to cry off Sunday in the face of the enemy!!

surprise, surpise

16486 - Mass Air Flow Sensor (G70): Signal too Low
P0102 - 35-00 - -

It's exactly 1 year one month since the last one! I'll try and get a new one today

Unlucky bud. Hopefully you'll be able to get it sorted before tomorow.

Also, looking at your terminal speed for your best run, it seems a bit low?

Looking at all of my past slips it seems about normal, 94s and 95s.

My 1/8 miles are all 74s and 75s.

I suspect it is because I have to change right before the line (3rd to 4th)

PS: As it's just failed MAF, I will still be going tomorrow even if I cannot get one as its not going to cause any damage

i absolutely mullered an 04 facelift type R this morning:D

was so funny looking at his disappointed face when i rolled past effortlessly!

im sure you'l have a good chance, best of luck, Cupra power.

all st focuse's are 2.5 its the fiesta st thats a 2.0. as said it will all be down to driver error/ability i reckon. there's nothing betwen a st and an lcr although ive heard people say an lcr is quicker.
if you don't already know mate...load the revs to about 3k then wait for green and drop the clutch, if you get any wheelspin throttle the accalertor, this is where the driver ability comes in. good throttle control will win you the race. apart from the subaru that is!

Thanks for that. As a 4th timer I'm not intimidated by the line/lights, so that helps. I didn't realise that you have to control the spin with the throttle, I always releave it with some clutch and keep the heavy foot flat down. I'll try what you suggest tomorrow.
