hi
thanks fore the response
I did clear them and but they are shown again. The esp light is on all the time. But I dont notice anything unusual when driving.

Have you already tried to clear codes? Owing to the intermittent nature of the codes, I'd try clearing them and then see what returns.

can you please assit. Ive just spend a lot of money on the official vag com from Roos Tec but some of the codes dont appear on your code list.

I'm not working from the office - I went home sick today - miserable head cold! So, I don't have access to my colleagues or my technical stuff.

From the scan you have posted, something is seriously messing with the communication between the modules in the car. Or, the CAN gateway has been messed with and the coding for it has been messed with.

I was going to refer you to the Ross-Tech wiki for more information on your codes but I take it you have already gone there to get what assistance you can get.

Have you played with the coding of the modules? Do you have more history as to how this all came about? Is the car running well?

I am going to send an email to a colleague to see if he might be able to suggest a course of action.

Hi and thanks again
The car runs ok. I bought it in 2006 with 11000 miles on the clock. I use it very rarely and therefore its only done less tha 20000 miles since new.
It drives ok and its only recently that the esp light has started to remain lit all the time. The esp switch will not turn it off. The engine management light was also lit and after I removed the fault codes that has not yet come back.

The car does spend a lot of time parked up but the battery has always been able to start it without assistance.

sorry to hear about the head cold. hope you get better soon

Sorry just to add I have not interfered with the system at all. just done a scan. and removed the fault codes.

Just to add
whilst driving sometime ago the audible bleeps (3 loud ones) began to sound at fairly regular intervals. after some research I topped the coolant level to just above the high mark and the bleeps stopped.

Bruce asked me to take a closer look at this, so I did some checks and updated/added some codes in our WIKI. First off here are some links you may wanna look into to understand what the individual codes mean.

02 (Transmission):

http://wiki.ross-tech.com/index.php/18255/P1847/006215
http://wiki.ross-tech.com/index.php/28775/U0103/049411

03 (Brake Electronics):

http://wiki.ross-tech.com/index.php/01435

This code is not unusual but as you can see in the suggestions what to check quite often the sensor is at fault but since the sensor is part of the ABS unit the whole unit needs to be replaced. Seat (as well as VW, Audi and Skoda) usually offers a warranty extension, did you buy that extension when you bought the car as well? If so, just drop it off at the dealer they will most likely take care of this. Working on the brake system is not necessarily a job you should do at home...

09 (Central Electronics):

http://wiki.ross-tech.com/index.php/01800
http://wiki.ross-tech.com/index.php/01321

16 (Steering Column Electronics):

17 (Instrument Cluster):

19 (Gateway):

72 (Door, Rear Right):

Some additional comments after all, when you're having problems like this and cannot get an answer in the forums in time you may wanna drop us an email with the scan and your questions. We usually try to reply within one business day to those mails but may not be able to provide the same service in all forums we participate in. Last but not least an additional note, we can understand that you don't wanna publish your VIN in a forum but nevertheless it has been proven to be helpful to have at least a slight information when exactly the vehicle was build. Our suggestion therefor is to post the VIN but X the last 3-4 digits. That should give you enough privacy while others can still figure enough details from what you give them. ;)
