How many litres of fuel is left when petrol light comes on?

car is leon cupra 20vt light seems to come on rather erlier then i thought it would have? the last white bar but ardly anywhere near the red . just want to no how many miles / litres is left

Mine comes on with about 50 miles left.

My light comes on when the car calculates that there are 25miles left in the tank. When registering 0miles, I have driven 10miles or so with no juddering or noises from the fuel pump. I wouldn't recommend doing that, I was probably lucky.

manual says 7 litres in reserve. mine does 25 miles usually. its not something to trust tho, my previous vag's light would come on (and make that horrible beeeeeeeeeep.... why couldnt they make it ping dammit!!??) and give 50miles or more, then on one occasion it came on and about thirty seconds later i was making a break for the hard shoulder...

i personally would never push it past the 20 miles mark at a max
as after that you will start dredging up any **** sat at the bottom of the tank

Trip computer on the LC tends to say 30 miles range left once the light comes on which is probably an underestimate but it can plummet fast if you're heavy with the right foot. You certainly don't want to be running on either scrapings or fumes.

5 litres is about right, having filled up not long after it's come on a few times.
Out of interest the owners manual claims 'about 7 litres'.

It usually comes on for me when it says i've got 25miles left in the tank. its not something i've been keen to test..
Also, has anyone else noticed that the tank goes out of the top of the gauge? or is it just me?
When i fully brim a tank (ie: til when the garage pump refuses to put any more fuel in) I can drive about 100miles before the needle even starts to move..
