Nah, it's fine. I'm considering AP's for mine too, and the whiteline rear ARB.

Just wondering whether to go for the front strut brace too, and whether they actually do anything, as it appears to me like the chassis would never flex enough for the bar to do its job. I don't mind if it is just cosmetic, but I'd rather get the car handling properly, and worry about looks later ;)
 
It is a good mod. I noticed a difference on the standard FR suspension when I fitted the SEAT Sport front strut brace! :funk: Got a Whiteline rear ARB too...now that is a quality bit of kit and makes a massive difference! :)
 
The strut brace doesn't make much difference. It won't reduce understeer like some ppl say...it will usually increase it on a front wheel drive car as you are stiffening up the front! What it does is make turning into corners sharper and better grip on smooth surfaces. Fitting a rear ARB will help much more as the strut brace increases body roll (it reduces flex in the chassis)...the rear ARB will counteract this :)

surely as the Ibiza's are fwd, and if the strut brace increases grip and sharpens cornering, then it should decrease understeer ;) obviously not up to the point that it stops existing entirely

but yes, as mentioned above, installing the rear arb will make the car a lot sturdier as all the parts work together

i'm actually interested to know where the rear arb fixing points are...:shrug: might be looking to install it later on in life

The Whiteline kit comes with drop-links that attach to the bottom of the rear shocks (with longer bolts supplied). Then there are two straps that hook over the rear beam. The kit comes with everything you need and is a piece of piss to fit.

It sharpens turn-in to a corner, not cornering generally. You don't really get understeer until you carry some speed through a corner and stiffening the front of a car always increases understeer relative to oversteer. You get some grip back for traction because the wheels are better aligned with the road, but over bumpy surfaces you lose this again because of the lack of chassis flex.

The rear ARB reduces body roll, and stiffens the back which increases oversteer relative to understeer. You lose grip over bumpy surfaces because the back is so stiff but this is more fun/dangerous than losing grip on the front :)
