I'm sure one or both of those companies is something to do with Adam Jones' family. I read elsewhere that the other car is the green GR Asia Leon that appeared in the BTCC/WTCC in 2007. Adam will obviously be using his own car.

Not enough testing time pre-season.

The petrol engined cars in the WTCC seem to be on the backfoot too. The engine just doesn't seem to have the legs in it, plus hatchbacks always carry more drag than saloons do.
Don't think they did too badly considering the strengths of the competition but more work required to turn that car into a front runner. As we know SEAT moved to diesels in both the WTCC and BTCC so maybe they simply couldn't squeeze anymore pace out of it.

Yup, agree with all of the above too.
And with it being an FIA-homologated car, there's only so much CVR can do to the car to get more pace out of it. Were they running bio-fuel?
Dunno. But if they weren't and can get as much out of the car on bio-fuel as they did running on whatever it was they did run on then we will all be in for a treat by the halfway point.
I thought they were quite competitive. And if they do improve they will easily for me, as a team, claw back the difference. For instance CWR are 15pts shy of the team above them (Airwaves BMW) in the Teams Standings and in the Independent Teams are 14pts shy of the team above them Team RAC (5pts ahead of CWR is RML but we don't know if they will get out at Thruxton). That is the kind of difference that with one or two good meetings will see them overcome the differenes.
I still have high hopes.
It's not so much they can't get any more out of it, it's more them not being able to get more out of it and stay within the rules. Apparently the engine's capable of more, but not within the current regs.

I cant remember where i read it, but apparently the the engine is too good, unlike the chevys whos engine is kinda old. There usin valves that would be illegal in the SEATs petrol. Im not sure on the inns and outs
yeah, thats right... and the "illegal" suspension pick up points
the first Daywoo was a dog, but then with dispensation they got a lot better
Same as the Tolly rear suspension, Leon flat floor etc

Because it's the start of a slippery slope of allowing everyone to do things like that and before you know it, costs have shot up and there are arguments about unfair advantages. Not that it's cheap at the moment mind you. There are arguments all the time, but Gow ignores them mostly thankfully. We don't need the constant chopping and changing of weight we had when the S2000 cars first came in.
